trentboy2 Â Â 10 #1 Posted May 24, 2008 Need to buy some more RAM for my Vista hungry machine, currently I have 2GB (x2 1GB) DDR2 667MHz cards manufactured by a company called VData. Â I cant find this company anywhere to buy more RAM from, but does it matter? Â Could I for example install this on my machine? Â http://www.ebuyer.com/product/106133 Â Or should I just go ahead and buy x2 2GB sticks? Â Thanks
 Share this content via...
GrinderBloke   10 #2 Posted May 24, 2008 Go to http://www.crucial.com/uk install the web based scanner and it will tell you exactly what RAM you have and what you need.
 Share this content via...
Ghozer   112 #3 Posted May 24, 2008 2GB is fine for vista, and 4GB is pointless unless your going to run 64Bit Vista (as you'll only be able to use 3GB approx on 32bit)  but yes, it is best to get the same brand if possible, OR, if you have 4 slots, get 2 of one brand and 2 of the other so they dual channel properly.
