Danny Cullip signed by Blades

Recommended Posts

Brighton have agreed to sell defender Danny Cullip to Championship rivals Sheffield United for £250,000.

The 28-year-old rejected the offer of a new contract at the Withdean Stadium and is set to join the Blades in a deal that could end up worth £400,000.

"Once it became clear Danny wanted to go I had to get the best price for him," said Albion chairman Dick Knight.

"At United he will be playing in front of 20,000 people every week and has a chance of playing in the Premiership."

Do we really need him? Surely the cash would've been better spent on a good striker?

Course we need him - we've only got 3 centre backs, one of which is playing right back. The other 2 are capable of making sloppy errors.

I still think a decent striker should be top of our christmas shopping list.

Yes i think we desperatly needed him- there is no point having an awesome strikeforce if we carried on conceeding stupid goals like we did against rotherham, this is a good signing for the club.

Of course we need a good striker but I believe that a team starts from the back. We need someone to Keep Jags, Morgan and Bromby on their toes and although they have had good seasons they have had no competition really for places. Cullip could edge out one of them, who knows? I hope he is a great addition to the team and we have to pay the extra money because he helps us get promotion.
