  1. I get the 51 to work from Crosspool and ask for a £1.20 to town. A few times I've notcied when looking at my ticket (while in town) that the driver has given me an 80p to Broomhill ticket instead. What if an inspector came on the bus then - would they try to get me to pay £35 for something that isn't my fault?? I can really see the driver standing up for me and admitting he made a mistake in that situation, can't you?!
  2. Sid, I have a feeling that this is a waste of time me typing this, and you won't listen to what I'm saying anyway, but i'll carry on regardless... Having read (and been fascinated) by both threads, the thing I think is most evident is that you need to gain PEOPLE skills, not just pulling skills. By people skills, I mean interaction with both men AND women. As has been pointed out a thousand times on this thread, you do seem completely pre-occupied with the whole "having a girlfriend" thing. While I can fully appreciate this is a major thing for you, it is also clearly hampering your future "efforts" to impress the opposite sex. The reason I say this is because you mentioned you once asked someone on your course at Uni to go out for a drink to "meet girls". I'm sorry, but if someone I didn't really know that much asked me to go out on the pull, I would say no straight away. I think you also seem to be under the impression that guys who are attached also never want to socialise with single people (judging by your past history that may be a fair assumption for you to make). This could not be further from the truth. I think you need to make friends with members of both sexes to understand how PEOPLE work. When you do that, you would find it easier to make friends with people, and find it easier to interact, and make people want to spend time with you. Someone earlier in the thread said it was a numbers game. This is the best point on the thread; the more people you know, the more people they know, and the more people you are likely to be introduced to. Do you not see that? You seem to be dismissing the idea of making friends with attached men, simply because they would spoil your chances on a Friday night. This is the most short-sighted thing you could do - think of the long game. People know people who know people etc, etc get my drift?
  3. lol hotphil - exactly! i can't believe bars have the audactiy to throw the used bottles away, especially when people have moved in right above them!
  4. Does anyone know which bus to catch to go from Sheffield City Centre to Coal Aston, and what times they run (around 6.30 - 7 pm tonight). Where they actually tun from would be a great help as well! TIA.
  5. I've only ever been on Saturday night: overcrowded and overpriced. Can't stand the place.
  6. Millenniums is the worst takaway place I have ever been to (having lived in Sheffield, Leeds & Manchester over the past 3-4 years that's saying something!). The reason it was so cheap was because the food was completely sub-standard; having that place next to Broomhill Friery is just embarassing.
  7. I was a student in Leeds - I'd have killed to have lived anywhere near as nice as Broomhill! You Sheffield students have it lucky, trust me!
  8. True, but it's not really worth learning VB just to do 1 database. I think Access should be suitable for this instance, if Fletch is ok with the password thing.
  9. when you have created the form and query, goto Design view of the form, and go to Properties. In the All section, there's "Allow Edits", "Allow Additions" and "Allow Deletions" options. Set these to No, and job's a good un! Re: password AFAIK, you can only set a password on the database when it opens up, not on individual screens. You may be able to put one on if you know any VBA, but I'm not sure at all.
  10. Not that you watch it much or anything.....
  11. Exactly Limpo - what's the other option - get the bus? Oh no because they finish about 7 (really handy), or they stop running at the first sign of a snowflake! The poster above had it correct - supply and demand. If you don't want to pay, why don't you just walk!
  12. Allegedly, the youth player tried to set light to Barton's shirt so he stubbed his cigar in his eye. Barton was dressed as Jimmy Saville at the time - what a fight that would have been to see!
