  3. Can't wait for this. The last gong show was packed and it was a really good night.
  4. Will be there. We've seen Tony Basnett MC the gig before and he's been amazing.
  5. We'd first of all like to thank the massive audience who made last months event such an amazing night. This month has a lot to live up to but we've got some cracking acts lined up for the 28th of Feb and might be able to even surpass last months success. We have Steve Bugeja, Steve Linton, Dan Bland, Jonathon Greatex, Daniel Kenndy and the sublime Pete Otway. Since starting to perform in 2010, Pete Otway has quickly gained momentum, establishing himself as an extremely strong new act. As comfortable and confident as an MC as he is an act, he is booked regularly to do both. "Devastatingly funny" - Steve Bennett, Chortle Bar Abbey, Abbeydale Road. £4. 8:00 start.
  6. Quite a few people I know are really keen to go so looks like it will be a busy night.
  7. This January we have the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year heat at Bar Abbey. You vote for your favourite act of the night and send them through to the bright lights of London! The competion has been finding the best in new UK comedy since 2001 - Greg Davies won the competition on his fourth ever gig, Russell Kane won it in the first six months when he was starting out, and the list of previous winners and finalists includes these, Jack Whitehall, Rhod Gilbert, Daniel Rigby, Nina Conti, Imran Yusuf, Marek Larwood, Steve Hall, Matt Kirshen, Carl Donnelley and many, many more. Come down to Bar Abbey (Abbeydale Road) to see the next big star of tomorrow. Tickets are £5 on line and on the night. £8:30 start. http://www.wegottickets.com/laughinghorse/event/197669 Bar Abbey, Abbeydale road, S7 1FS Sheffield ---------- Post added 02-02-2013 at 19:34 ---------- We'd like to give a massive thanks to all 15 comedians for putting on a spectacular show on Thursday and also thank the massive audience that turned up to support them and provided an electric atmosphere. Also, congratulations to the deserving winners who are going onto the next stage of the laughing horse competition. We've got another great night planned for the 28th of February, and will be posting the details shortly.
