Thye only problem some Muslims have with pre-stunning is that there is a chance the animal could be declared dead before the cut to the throat and jugular etc. The method of Kosher acceptable in some cases with the animal being stunned immediately after the cut seems to me to be a good compromise even to that little argument. As it has already been accepted for the Jewish community then I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be for the Muslims apart for those who have other reasons for objecting of course.

I am a Muslim and live amongst the Muslims and in my experience of contact with other Muslims is that it is not the majority but you can rely on pointers of your choice even based on one man saying he is not educated to make arbitrary decisions of course. You can check with Huzoor, Mafya or Bazooka and they would say the same.

Far from me as a Muslim teaching the real experts on Islam the Islam haters I have to confess there are differing schools of thought on this issue. Some would be very strict and no per-stuning would be allowed yet there are others who would accept is fulfilling the condition of draining the blood of the animal to be considered halal. The main thing is however the cut and the draining of the blood, but stunning is still under debate.
