  1. Hi there, does anyone know of a hotel where I can get a room for tomorrow night? I'm comming over to Sheffield, but need somewhere to stay. Can anyone help? M3ckon
  2. OK I've given up with it now I can get into the MAC Open Firmware, but can't get OSX to install. So instead I'm selling the MAC. It's a G4 Cube I think it's a 450 with 20 gig hdd and 256mb of RAM, but I don't know for sure. If anyone is interested in buying it let me know.. it's on ebay anyway, but if you offer a fair price on here I'll deliver it for free. Regards, M3ckon
  3. Listen to Karl! I've never met him, but I agree with him here 100% He knows what he's talking about
  4. you know AOL is really not a good ISP at all (not going to go into why as there's no need) however try one of the dns servers I put on here before
  5. sounds like your dns is working ok.... do the sites work on other machines on your network? can you clear the arp cache and any dns caching on your router too
  6. hmm... interesting i think that's coincidence to be honest with you however if not then some app has messed it up would be interesting to know which one
  7. it's dns ... no doubt about it do an nslookup for ebay.co.uk that should prove it I'd check your isp's status page and also try a different dns instead (eg ns1.plus.net ns1.pipex.net)
  8. well unless you understand normalization and how relational databases work, then all you're going to do is waste a lot of time. anyway, I'll leave it to you good luck anyway...
  9. Buy a book! far better to get training if you can but if not go to your nearest borders... find the book that seems most suitable, then order it from Amazon. Failing that pay a consultant/contractor to build it for you!
  10. Hi there, I have 2 phones: a Nokia 8800 and a Motorola V3 I am thinking of selling them both and thought I'd get them unlocked first. However, being an IT bod and having lived in the north of England for far too long, I begrudge spending money on getting these things done, when I'm sure I can do them myself. Now I was wondering what software would be needed for each phone in order to perform a network unklock? Does anyone know of the packages or of any good forums that may point me in the right direction? M3ckon
  11. Nope afriad not If anyone has any for sale, please PM me!
  12. Nope didn't work.... anyone else got any clues
  13. I went in there today and they quoted me £95 to repair my laptop which I think is waaaay too much anyone know of anywhere else??
  14. set min and max to one and half times your amount of memory
