  1. Thank you both so very much and sorry for the late reply- I'd logged myself out and couldn't remember my password - doh! I tackled it myself and even if I do say so - I think it look pretty good though I have bought another fully beaded dress that needs altering! oh my lordy - will I ever learn?? anyways I am going to follow both up for my new dress
  2. Can anyone help please? I've bought a beaded dress which needs a slight alteration - I've tried quite a few seamstresses but nobody does a heavily embellished frock _ I'm even tempted to try stitching by hand but I'm reluctant as I don't want to ruin it = Please?
  3. Lost track. The thread was about employability courses which I agree with for SOME out of work people. I do have empathy for people struggling to get a job. The least you could get out of these courses is a reference the best a job.
  4. Waste of time for the nearly retired and I have been out of work myself. If I was the only tax payer I'd be mortified. I am though a contributor and rather contribute to a course if it meant that at least 'one' of the learners gained employment. Not saying everyone out of work is useless or lazy. Far from it most want work though because of the few that don't want to get a job you all suffer. My point is. Instead of whining - go on them and get what you can out of it even if it is only how to make a tinfoil giraffe. Ironic how the non-contributors are the most concerened how the contributors contribute
  5. Yep. You should be left alone and be able to claim your benefit without any clauses. Silly tax payers for making you get out of bed.
  6. Stop whinging. It isn't like you're financially contributing to these courses or you haven't the time to go on them.
  7. Goes back to expectations (both employee and employer) and education - these courses might be rubbish (I like the tin foil giraffe) but if it gives structure and routine it's something to build on. Getting up every morning, travelling and having to do something no matter how tedious is getting prepared for work.
  8. Yes I am fortunate to have a job. Nobody knocked on my door and offered it me. I put the work I for it.
  9. Yep. I was made redundant- took me 5 weeks to get a crappy receptionist job all the while applying for something else. I only stayed with the reception post for 8 weeks before I got another job. Every bit of training I've done I've paid for. I once had a job which was 3 half hours travelling a day. I was knackered - had to run a home, take care of my family etc.
  10. Good and bad in everything. Going round in circles with this one: get a job and you'll not need the courses. Do what working people do - if you want to up skill pay for it out of your WAGE. Self-develop without relying (and complaining) about government schemes. Get off ya ass. If you want owt - work for it.
  11. Well said Fiddlerman. At last a decent comment!! Benefit culture needs to end.
  12. If people put as much effort into gaining employment themselves these courses wouldn't exsist.
  13. If you don't need this service why don't you get a job then instead of wasting 'tax payers' money on useless mandated courses you can contribute instead and not have attend this
  14. Yep they've checked to see if she's chipped. Can't sleep thinking about the poor little mite. Out of my very spoiled 6, I've only had one from a kitten, they've all been rescue/pre loved. I've had my 5yr old Siamese for a year now and we're just about settled (ish) she wouldn't except another cat and I just can't afford another :-( she definitely looks like she hasn't a home. Please can anyone save her? She's only got a few hours left
