  14. Just thought i'd post a quick update. Max (the resident cat) came in to have his tea after playing out all day, I decided to feed him before feeding our new 3.5 month old kitten,Belle. All was well, I kept her in the lounge sleeping, whilst Max ate in the kitchen. He normally then goes and chills upstairs on the bed for a bit. I then closed up the kitchen to let Belle eat after him, just to fuss Max for a bit by himself, all was well, seemingly forgot about the new kitten, I started to play with him, chasing his toys around, until he heard the kitten starting to cry ('let me out!') The when I came towards Max to continue playing with him he growled and hissed at me and swiped for me?! He's the most friendly cat in the world normally, I really don't know what's gotten into him. He's completely out of character...
  15. Thankyou so much for your reply. Max hasn't been interacting with us, just hiding and wanting to go outside. We're well aware of fussing Max, at the end of the day he's our first and will remain very special to us. I'll let you guys know how it goes over the next few days! Thanks!
  16. Hi people, you guys are always helpful on here, so I thought i'd get your advice once again. The black kitten outside our house seems to being looked after now, so we all can stop worrying. Max ( our 1yr old cat) has been pining after her ever since she's not been around. So we visited Sheffield Cats shelter and brought home a little tabby as a play mate. So far Max has only hissed at her, batted her and did 'the pathetic meow thing' when we stroke him. I dont know if any of you have experienced a cat that cant quite reach a fly, and they do a more pathetic kind of meow, anyway, he's doing that when we stoke him now, which he's never done before. The kitten is obviously curious about Max and just wants to play, but Max seems to be sulking. Is this normal? and do you have any tips on helping them get along, we've only had her 20hours so far... Please help!
  17. Hey guys, just thought i'd give you an update. The kitten is still coming to our back door, but she is looking a lot better as the family next to the owners have took her under their wing and are feeding her regularly now because the owners still don't seem to be. We haven't heard anything from the RSPCA and i doubt we will, as the neighbours are feeding her. As to whether she id dpayed, I dont know, but I know most the man cats round hear have been done.
  18. We've thought about taking her to Peak Vets ,as Max goes there, we called them first. The trouble is that if we were to get her sorted, all vetted and then pay the vet bill. The original owner could just come around and demand her kitten back... As she only lives 5 doors down. What i'd really like to see is the owner actually knock on some doors to find where she is, because as to now, I haven't seen the owner try to find her after 4 days now... I'm sure that calling in the RSPCA has now set the ball rolling to get her sorted. Even though it's heart-breaking to see the little kitten crying outside our door all day and night, we're going to take the advice of RSPCA and not feed her again, in the hope she'll go back home. Max does like her alot, but the fact of the matter is, we're a little broke ourselves, so cant really afford to keep her with the same quality of life we can give Max. So do we just wait for the inspector now?!
  19. We are worried that RSPCA will take it away and will be waiting to get rehomed. She needs alot of love n she'll be okay.
  20. Thanks guys for your suggestions. We stay over friends last night and didnt feed it on the night. But was still at our back door crying at 11am. We noticed our Max grooming it today, looks like he's took her under his wing as her coat is looking better for it. And is looking more spritley after us feeding it over a few days. My wife called the RSPCA and they told her off for giving it any food.. oops! They have filed the complaint and got an inspector on the case. What do you think our next course of action should be?
