  1. You can of course do it yourself, or have a solicitor or will writer to do it. If you do it yourself, it's best to read a good guide like the Which? guide to making a will. One advantage is if you want to alter the will in future (codicil), you can do it free whereas I think a professional will charge for it.

Administering a will though a solicitor can be expensive if there is property and multiple bank accounts, insurances etc, although a visit to the branch with a death certificate (or copy), ID etc is usually all that is required.

There’s loads of shoe shops - and also all the shoes you could want in the world on the internet.

Don't know how people can wear shoes that have pointy styled toes, most look the wrong shape for the human foot.

I never buy online for that reason. I need a broad fit, although I see that some sellers do offer extra-broad fittings.

Best way to be sure is trying on in a shop.

  3. True, I understand there were no blast furnaces in Sheffield. Cuttsie's probably referring to the many big furnaces used in forging and rolling mills - writer's 'licence'?

"Trams were running to Intake and rag man had a horse and cart"   Our local rag man had a horse and cart with goldfish and balloons, he was a 'drinker' and you would see the horse waiting (parked) outside the local boozer at lunch time.

Do wake up   -   we already know that but we are discussing what's to replace it as petrol and diesel cars reduce, whilst electric vehicles and, maybe Hydrogen vehicles increase.

Taxation receipts will obviously go down as petrol & diesel sales shrink but it will still be wise to charge those who do the most mileage, the most tax.

It might be that those who do the highest mileages are professional drivers, commercial vehicles etc, in which case they will pass the charges onto you and I.

Shrinkflation. It's everywhere. Smaller items but same price. They think we're daft and won't notice, even have the cheek to say it's to help with obesity.... And then fruit has rocketed in price too.

I don't know of any healthy savoury snacks to be honest.

Those small bags of salted peanuts are ok from Asda etc, and to reduce the salt if desired, a rinse with warm water in a bowl then dry does the trick.

    Good question Mr. C.

I can remember my parking light..

I seem to think it was attached to the battery somehow.

Think there might have been some cars equipped with a 2-pin socket, but most probably connected direct to battery as you say. Some makes were chromed.

I would imagine for you, the Autumn each year is a time of memories and reflection. For me the smell of freshly laid road tar instantly  takes me way back.

Funny you should mention that, they used to just pour a long screed of tar on the road surface, then the lorry followed up spreading the small limestone chippings, in turn followed by the roller. I'm not sure whether they still use that method, seems to be more tarmac without the chippings now.

    We've drifted from spiders somewhat.
