There’s loads of shoe shops - and also all the shoes you could want in the world on the internet.
Don't know how people can wear shoes that have pointy styled toes, most look the wrong shape for the human foot.
I never buy online for that reason. I need a broad fit, although I see that some sellers do offer extra-broad fittings.
Best way to be sure is trying on in a shop.

True, I understand there were no blast furnaces in Sheffield. Cuttsie's probably referring to the many big furnaces used in forging and rolling mills - writer's 'licence'?
"Trams were running to Intake and rag man had a horse and cart" Our local rag man had a horse and cart with goldfish and balloons, he was a 'drinker' and you would see the horse waiting (parked) outside the local boozer at lunch time.

There were quite a few of good Stone's houses around Sheffield, one of the best pints was in The Cannon opposite Stone's brewery. The Norfolk Arms, Grenoside, was noted for its Ward's.

When the Gleadless Valley estate was new in the early 60s , many people from the demolished Pitsmoor area were transferred there, including some of my uncles and aunts. It was superb, as a boy we would go playing in the woods, fishing for bullheads in the stream. Wouldn't fancy it now.

Do wake up - we already know that but we are discussing what's to replace it as petrol and diesel cars reduce, whilst electric vehicles and, maybe Hydrogen vehicles increase.
Taxation receipts will obviously go down as petrol & diesel sales shrink but it will still be wise to charge those who do the most mileage, the most tax.
It might be that those who do the highest mileages are professional drivers, commercial vehicles etc, in which case they will pass the charges onto you and I.

I went one Sunday morning (I think it was) when that cold virus was circulating, there were 3 others in and I was called within 10 mins.

Depends how it got the hole, corrosion or being damaged by a stone etc. In the latter case, the warranty might be invalid; perhaps depends on the precise wording on warranty, it might be that damage is covered.

I'm certain it was not keyless, the car was quite a few years old although in superb condition. .

Shrinkflation. It's everywhere. Smaller items but same price. They think we're daft and won't notice, even have the cheek to say it's to help with obesity.... And then fruit has rocketed in price too.
I don't know of any healthy savoury snacks to be honest.
Those small bags of salted peanuts are ok from Asda etc, and to reduce the salt if desired, a rinse with warm water in a bowl then dry does the trick.

Probably no more that half a tattie in a bag of crisps.
The other con are doughnuts and polo mints, somehow thev've persuaded us to buy a product with absolutely nothing in the middle!
Same with 'Lite' margerine etc - just added water.

A friend had a special Fiat 500 stolen during the night from outside his house. What's worrying about this is that they didn't have the keys.

The Asda trolleys in Llandudno had a device which bleeped (or sent a signal) when it was taken beyond certain boundaries.

Trading Standards (if available) would probably ask whether Customer Complaints Procedure had been followed.
Not sure what 'Payment Assist' is, but if paid by credit card Section 75 could have been invoked.

Here are some figures on crime in Sheffield, the map is very good.

Presume your tuning is performed on the Humax, which you use as a Freeview recorder? Have you tried coupling aerial direct to tv and tuning that way in order to check quality of signal?
-
You mean it doesn't get any channels at all? Have you previously been able to receive all Freeview channels without "blocking" or interference?

People fall over each other to claim a share of a profit, but strangely vamoose when there's mention of a loss!

Good question Mr. C.
I can remember my parking light..
I seem to think it was attached to the battery somehow.
Think there might have been some cars equipped with a 2-pin socket, but most probably connected direct to battery as you say. Some makes were chromed.

I still have my parking light and it still works!
Can you remember where it was usually plugged in?

I would imagine for you, the Autumn each year is a time of memories and reflection. For me the smell of freshly laid road tar instantly takes me way back.
Funny you should mention that, they used to just pour a long screed of tar on the road surface, then the lorry followed up spreading the small limestone chippings, in turn followed by the roller. I'm not sure whether they still use that method, seems to be more tarmac without the chippings now.
We've drifted from spiders somewhat.

Hope we never have these scurrying round the house or in your beds!

Have You Made A Will?
in Padders' Bar: General Discussions
Posted
You can of course do it yourself, or have a solicitor or will writer to do it. If you do it yourself, it's best to read a good guide like the Which? guide to making a will. One advantage is if you want to alter the will in future (codicil), you can do it free whereas I think a professional will charge for it.
Administering a will though a solicitor can be expensive if there is property and multiple bank accounts, insurances etc, although a visit to the branch with a death certificate (or copy), ID etc is usually all that is required.
