  1. I've lived on this stretch of road for 35 years & it is much worse now. I have had drivers sounding their horn at me to get out of their way when I've been walking on the pavement! I've called the police a couple of times when situations have got really out of hand. It is dreadful & we asked for consideration to be given to making this one way - either direction would be fine by me - but we got nowhere with that. Any other ideas gratefully received!
  2. Right, I'm taking the plunge. I'll be in the Hillsborough Hotel, with my needles, from about 8.30pm this thursday. You'll be able to spot me, as I'll be the one...knitting! (or crocheting, it depends...) See you there fellow knitters!
  3. Ah, it was me this thursday as I was finishing a christmas present. And as I've got a few more things to do (and less than 3 weeks to do them in - help!) I shall no doubt be there next thursday, needles, and beer, in hand. If you pop down Becky B, come and say hello. I tried a few years ago to start a knitting group in there (pre no-smoking ban but they had a good no smoking section). But no-one turned up! So please do feel free to bring your needles along. And that goes for you too Taxman!
  4. Ah, that might be me. I also knit on the bus and on the tram, especially if I'm on a knit against time, and under pressure to finish something. And now that I can knit in pubs without it smelling smokey, why not? A decent pint and a knit all adds up to a perfect evening in my book! And if it's not me, then I shall keep my eyes peeled for a fellow knitter. Come and say hello next time I'm there!
