  1. The problem is that they don't provide enough information to the applicant - A corporate company wouldn't invite you to an interview like that and not provide you with any information. Not knocking the Civil Service - Its a great place to work, its just that the recruitment process is not the best and as a result of that many of the people that get through at interview stage are actually incompetent - again, this can be seen by looking at staff at most job centers who don't have a clue.
  2. If you go into a job centre it shows that they use silly recruitment procedures - there are 17 year olds on the desks interviewing job seekers which is rather demeaning for most people. It depends on the department as to whether she can re-use the score. When I worked for the CS it used to be that the score could be reused if applying within 6 months of taking the test. I very much doubt they will readvertise the same post within 6 months as they will probably have had in excess of 1000 applicants. If you look on the Money Saving Expert forum there is a large thread about DWP jobs whihc should also give some more information. If you want the contact number for the HR Service Centre for more info then let me know.
  3. Its the norm for Civil Service. As long as you tick the boxes and meet the criteria for the competencies then thats all they care about. They ar enot bothered in the slightest how you look when you go for an interview or about past experience. You could be 16 and tick all the boxes with no experience and get the job, yet someone with X years of experience will fail as they didnt say the right thing. Having worked for the Civil Service in Human Resources dont expect to be offered a starting date for at least 6 months or so - there are numerous security checks etc they will do and then at the end of it they may not even by a job waiting for her as they may have filled the positions internally. If she is offered a position make sure she gets the start date in writing or they can change there mind and you will have no proof. Hope that helps.
  4. Seems very unfair of the venue to charge you to provide entertainment so to speak. If I'm in Sheffield next week I'll try and pop down.
  5. Mate you dont need to edit and then re-edit entries - I can see the original ones as they come through via email. I wasn't having a go - Just looking to hear your thoughts. Why are they charging you 'rent' to use the 'club'? - Surely if you are bringing in business then you shouldn't have to pay them? Good luck with the night anyhow
  6. You cant compare the night with Speedqueen. All I asked is how can you justify charging £5 entry for what is effectively a bar? In terms of supporting local DJ's - you can see any number of established locals DJ's playing throughout Sheffield with entry being free to the majority of venues. - What makes your night different? Not having a go by the way - Just curious. I've met you a few times and spoken to you.
  7. Spotter her earlier on Cowlishaw Road on a bike just as she was a bout to terrorize her next victim.
  8. Considering £4-5 in Sheffield get you into nights such as Tuesday Club with big name dj's, do you not think £5 is a bit much to see effectively 'local' dj's in a bar? I don't think anyone would say Static is a club.
  9. John - How do you justify £5 entry for this?
  10. Take the image to the tatooist and they will redraw it to fit your body shape.
  11. If they give you a price over the phone they are not worth going to. Any decent tatooist will want to see you in person first. It's something thats going to be on you forever - surely you can spare some time to go and speak to a few tatooists and see who you feel comfortable with?
