January is over and that means that Valentines day is just around the corner whoop whoop (kissy kissy) Robofunk will be hoting a JUNGLE OF LOVE special and that means its time to bring out the animal inside of you. Its really great to see NO NEGATIVE comments here on the forum on a post about Sheff's nightlife. Hope it all goes well folks...sounds like its gonna be a top night with 2 great nights joining forces!!! Will try and make it down to join in with the party

Thanks ellison1..whoop whoop!!! I'd also like to add my thanks to Kim Brown who was the previous manager at Lions cus she did a lot of the important behind the scenes work ilke planning and prepping etc...doing all the jobs that don't often get noticed. She really did do a great job and also brought a lot of people to the place each and every week, buiding up the clientel and building the foundations of a great venue! Thanks Kim!!!!! x

James, James, James...I'm disappointed with your lack of reseach matey, compared to earlier in this post. Check out http://www.robo-funk.com (ADVERTISING AGAIN Whoop Whoop lol;)) and you will see that Robofunk started back in May 2009 at Static and had nothing to do with Lions. I also had it running in Keighley too for a short while which again, had nothing to do with Lions!!!!! Hope thats clear buddy I moved Robofunk to Lions in September because I thought that it would go down much better there as the style of the music seemed to fit in with the place. Static is a lovely venue but it clashed too much with the urban scene they already have there, thats why I moved it to Lions. Come on dude...lets get things right before we go ahead and start making bold comments...tut tut

Fair enough mate you did start Lions off a while back and I salute you...but the current of owners (G & A) have made MASIIVE changes since you left and have turned the place around. They have put so much effort into gettin the place where it is now and is even better than ever, so I wouldn't take all the credit for Lions being a success. The sound system (which is ace), the DJ box, the lazers, the monster smoke machine is all down to the new style of runnin of the place and has really made an impact making club nights there top notch! Also James...I've always been on good terms with you mate and when we worked together at Lions we got on well. I don't know why you went through all that effort to slag off my promotion earlier in this post...think its a bit bad of you to be entirely honest. What have I done to upset you cus you obviously have it in for me!??? Yes I'm promoting Lions and if anyone else was in my shoes you would be doing the same. I'm also being entierly honest...I do honestly think that its become the "Little Gem of Sheffield" on the (electro, tech house etc) clubbing scene and also for those people who like to party until the early hours. I'll be playing at Lions from 3am - 6am THIS FRIDAY!!! - Bit more promotion for ya.... ha ha

well said asmo!!! Damo, I'm just being honest...Lions Lair is TOP BANANA!!!!! If I were to come on here and slag the place off, (which I would never do) I'd get a beating in the celler, which I can't say I would enjoy cus nobody can here you down there. Come to think of it, there are two owners which means twice the amount of beats...ouch!!!

On the clubbing scene...I think that Lions is a top venue for dance music (electro, electro house and tech house). The after parties are always a hit and since I have taken Robofunk over to Lions Lair, it has done nothing but wonders for the night. *Every 2nd Saturday of the month* Fair enough if your not into that type of music cus I know that not everyone is, but for this sort of side of the clubbing scene, Lions is a top venue, ticking all the right boxes...in my opinion!!!

In the past 18 months or so, Lions Lair has come on leaps and bounds and is now known to be one of the hot spots on Sheffield's clubbing scene. Its late opening hours are a huge selling point for the people of Sheffield who want to party right through until the early hours. Lions Lair also has a great atmosphere when a night is in full swing and with the kit they have of lazers, strobes and smoke put that added touch that makes it an awesome moment when a big tune hit its climax. The sound system they have is also top notch and with the low celings makes the quality of the sound just amazing. I really do think that Lions Lair has become "the little gem of Sheffield" and even though the capacity is only quite small, it is starting to become really well known on Sheffield's clubbing scene as a top place for clubbers to party hard right through until the sun comes up.
