  1. Hi ya I am looking for reccomendations of someone who could come and help us with some work we need carried out S11. Specifically having a look at some areas of damp, idenifying the cause and making good the plaster work. Any reccomendations would be appreciated, really wanted someone reliable, reasonable and who will actually carry the work through! Thanks loads, louimack.
  2. Hi Rachel, I went along last night but I must have missed them I waited till 8 but no one there! I must have been in wrong place. I am planning on going again on Weds, apparently Hallamshire runs a club all levels welcome and they do about 3 miles so will give that a try until I build my fitness. If you fancy meeting on Weds give me a buzz on 07800 587616.
  3. Hi Hutch, yes spoke with Helen I am going along tonight if you fancy it at 8pm, meeting at Endciffe Park. It seems like they run a couple of times a week, I have been encouraged that it will be ok even though I am beginning again so going to give it a try. If you fancy coming along as a fellow beginner we could plod along together.
  4. Excellent, thanks I will give Helen a call - what do you reckon Hutch/Trotterete/Clareabell??
  5. For me personally, I would find it difficult to get to Don Valley at that time with work and all. But maybe we could arrange to meet somewhere convenient to us all for a first run then? We could pick a park maybe convenient to us all Ecclesall Woods/Graves Park/Millhouses - any other suggestions? How do we all get in touch, whats the best way to contact email/mobiles
  6. Hi all, I am really keen to find a running/jogging partner or a club of some sort to start up running again. I would be looking to go a couple of times a week now that summer is here but I am a bit of a plodder and not superfit at the moment.....does anyone fancy it or reccomend a group??
  7. Can anyone help me, seems like lots of people have good knowledge on Fiats. I have a punto 02, I took it to Autoworld, Saville St to get lights done, a couple of days later the lights on the instrument panel went crazy and then everything died, no speed, no petrol guage etc etc, took it back to autoworld and they charged me £75 for diagnostic checks and came up with the answer 'this happens quite often with Punto's haven't got a clue what has caused this but you need a new instrument panel which will cost you £400'. For 1. I'm not making any accusations but I fdid feel a bit suspicious when I happened across one of their mechanics when picking up the car who gave me his card (side line business) and said he can get me an instrument panel cheap for £200..... That aside, I basically dont trust this company and would like to get a 2nd opinion or have this done elsewhere, not where I am going to get ripped off, I really strongly feel that with some of these companies the minute they see a woman coming they start rubbing their hands (and I dont usually like to bang on about those kinds of things!) Can anyone help with a trustworthy source who I could get a 2nd opinion from, I live S11 but work S4.....or can anyone give me any general advise on what usually causes this, likley costs etc.....Thanks in advance....
  8. Jeffrey Archer didn't nearly kill someone by breaking every major bone in their body and follow by showing absolutely no remorse......
  9. Hi I am desperate for a good plumber, are you able to disconnect a gas cooker for me and do some pipe work in a new kitchen, we currently have an outlet for a washing machine but need to get one for a dishwasher too? I will try giving you a call later today in case you dont see this, Hope the forum has worked for you.... Thx loads
  10. Thanks to both, I will give them a call and see what they can do before my car concks out on me all together.
  11. Hi Freya, I'm a bit late on this thread but wondered how you were getting on and what you decided. I have been to WW before, but as soon as I stopped going to meetings I piled the weight back on. I want to loose a stone and need inspiration!
  12. Can anyone help me? I have just recently moved to Sheffield and need some reliable recommendations for a good, reliable mechanic to do some work on my car. I would prefer to support a good local rather than go to a dealership. I live at Banner Cross but work near Wicker so one near those areas would be ideal. Does anyone else find that these things are the main pain in the bum when moving to a new place? starting all these kinds of relationships again...!! Thanks loads:help:
  13. This sounds really good, but I haven't played netball since I was at school and wasn't too great at it then, will this matter? I am sure with a bit of practice and expert coaching over a few bevvies I could become a star player??
  14. I would really like to join a running club too (or should I say jogging!).....I have looked at the Hallamshire Harriers and Totley but am worried that they may be a bit too advanced for me. I can just about do 3 miles in about 30 mins but want to build up to a better level....does anyone know of any clubs that could be suitable or if the above clubs take pity and are friendly to people like me???
