http://www.deborahstone.co.uk actually specialises in this type of shoot. Have a look at some of her examples on her facebook page.

I was stood at a crossing the other day, lights turned to red so I started to cross. A van just ran the red light and swerved round me. The worst part is that a police car was also parked at the red light and saw the van clearly! I looked at the officer to point out the issue and he just shrugged his shoulders and drove on when the lights changed to green......brilliant!.......faith in the police restored.

you spend 87.5 hours editing 350 photos? if thats the case you need to look at your workflow! how do you have time to shoot?
Really boothybabe?I'd suggest contacting a few of my clients. I'm quite happy to do favours and good deeds, where possible.
The fact of the matter regarding the price of "pro togs" is simple. Would you be willing to work 4 hours on the day, expenses associated plus all the post production and associated costs with delivering a finished product that you're putting your name and reputation to for LESS than minimum wage? On a continued basis?
Here's a quick example, of what I'm assuming the OP requires.
4 hours on the day. On average over that time period, 350 images.
So 350 images in post production at best an average of 15 minutes per photograph.
DVD price (pence admittedly)
Presentation case (£20)
Travel to purchase above 1 hour.
Travel delivering finished product.
So,
4 hour shoot
87.5 hours editing
1 hour travel
21.00 packaging
1 hour delivery.
The OP doesn't want to pay £650-£800, so from experience that's £300-£450
£450-£21= £429
£429/93.5 hours = 4.58p/h that's not counting expenses on the day AND assuming the OP is willing to pay £450.
Also factor in the OP is looking for a tog at the height of the wedding season, when most "pro togs" are taking full day bookings only.

They're being offered a safe place in France. If they were genuinely trying to escape their government, they're quite alright where they are.
The sole reason (in my opinion) they wish to get here is because the benefits will be handed out quicker, and they'll get a nice 2-bed semi much faster.
Illegal immigrants don't get benefits or housing. They have to get immigration status first to have recourse to public funds.
people have the impression that they enter the country and instantly received benefits and a house. That is not true.
Housing is usually arranged by charities such as Shelter, which houses homeless people irrespective if your nationality

I shot my first wedding this wedding which went remarkably well! The happy couple woud now also like a wedding album making. But the price range is limited to about £150. Can anyone suggest a few companies for me? I'm looking for something a bit better than a 'photobook' like Blurb. So a decent quality book with about 25-35 pages inside. Leather bound is not essectial and probably not an option at that price anyway.
I have checked out the popular ones like Graphistudio and i know that is way outside this price range. But i do like the idea of a chunky, good quality printed book that will last for many years.
So far i have checked out
Graphistudio
Sim2000
Blurb
Finao
some of these only allow pro photographers which i'am not. So i also need a company that will allow us non pro photographers to use.
Thank you

What do you good people think about this new strategy by Adobe. Are you willing to pay every month to "lease" the software for as long as you live (or as long as you choose to use Adobe) Or will you be switching to one of the competitors?
I personally can not see me upgrading to CC anytime soon.

VSCO seem to be the industry standard film emulation filters at the mo. From what i have seen they are dam good as well.
They have just brought out VSCO 3 which has a whole lot of options.
Well worth a look if that's the style you are after.

Hi, I need a shotgun microphone for 2 days next week, does anyone know any local companies that have them for hire?
Thanks

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these prests for LR. Quite pricey but the results look great.

Is anyone aware of a company in or around Sheffield that does video camera hire? Looking for something like a Z1?
Thanks

Hello all. I'm wanting to expand my photography portfolio by trying out some product photography, items like Jewelry, Crafts, things small enough to fit in my home studio.
So if anyone would like some photos of their products free of charge please let me know. I wont be shooting these products in a clean white environment, I want to create a scene as such, I want to try something creative and high-end rather than just using a white light tent. We would discuss any ideas you have and between us we will create something a bit different.
The photos would obvioulsy be yours to use in promoting your products.
I just want to try something different to photographing people
Thank you

I will do, but cant at the moment. The image is for a magazine so im restricted from posting the image for now. But once the magazine goes out ill out it up.

Thanks for the responses!
i managed it in the end. Very similar to that image Glassbox, but instead i wanted many more people.
I decided to take a picture of the subject with no other people in shot. Then i took another 20-30 images of people walking past with a very slow shutter speed which achieved the amount of ghosting i required. I then simply masked eached image to just show the ghost and layered them all together with various opacity levels. The end result was perfect and I created exactly what i had in mind. It did take quite a few hours and ended up with one very slow Macbook!

If you can imagine a timelapse video of a person stood on a busy high street, the person is stood still whilst the people move around him very fast. We have all seen that done right? Now how could i capture that style in one single image?
The idea is to take multiple shots of said person stood still, but i want the image to show people walking past with motion blur. I want the blurred people to be faded into the image.
Would i just stack the images up and then mask out the bits I dont want? Or is there a way to stack the images all in one with different opacity levels for each image?
Does any of that actually make sense?

If there is a merge at the end, you are using the road correctly. If the right hand lane was for turn right only and you then tried to push into the left lane, I would understand why people would get annoyed.
Luckily for me and the few others that use it, it merges at the end.
-
That is true, but lets be fair they are only gaining 2-3 mins less traffic time, is it really worth the annoyance? Or if you cant beat them, why not join them and enjoy the express lane to the front of the traffic?
I drive a stretch of road at Tankersley which is 2 lanes and a merges at the end. For some reason most people like to sit in the left lane queing, I go (correctly) down the right lane and merge in turn, must save me 10 mins a day. I do however sometimes receive hostility as people think I am 'que jumping' when actually I am using the road as its meant to be used. Different I know to your circumstance.
Its the same on the Mosborough Parkway. There are two lanes but for some reason everyone stays in the left hand lane and when you do use the right lane (which is always empty) the cars either pull out and block you from going any further or you get verbally abused
why would they build two lanes if they weren't to be used?

Boots do a super saver pack of Cetirizine hydrochloride OR Loratadine for £0.99. Exactly the same ingredients as the branded tablets. worked just the same for me and cheaper than form the docs.
still doesnt clear it 100% but it takes the edge of things.

Tom they are outstanding! some of the best manipulated work I have seen in ages. I've always wanted to push the boundaries with PS but never know where to start?
Great work.
Different strokes and all that! A lot of photoshop tools are equivalent to age-old darkroom techniques though - dodging and burning to selectively lighten and darken parts of a picture for example are nothing new. That said, I'm one of those that likes to take it a bit further..

I always understood Bokeh to be a description of the aesthetic quality of the blur, rather than just a word for out of focus backgrounds.

I have made lots of music videos in the many derelict buildings around sheffield, just take your pick!
unfortunately none were 'legit' and we were probably not supposed to be there, but they made a great setting for a music video.
I have shot a music in Magna which was pretty good, the artists gained permission for that one though.
