If the motherboard supports "TPM" then this MUST be enabled, if it doesn't them Win 11 will not install automatically anyway.

    TPM or Trusted Platform Module

TPMs are integrated motherboard chips that are unique to individual computers and mobile devices. They operate internally and don’t interact with external devices. They’re also resistant to dictionary attacks.

Are you wondering why they’re considered “inherently trusted” devices? Each TPM comes equipped with hard-coded identifiers (i.e., keys) that serve as the computer hardware equivalent of your government passport. But instead of coming from a government entity, TPM device keys are issued by the trusted OEM manufacturers (companies like Microsoft and IBM).

This is why I think if you have this enabled you might as well stop using a VPN because this tells every computer you connect to who you are. I don't mean your name and address, but your computers unique number (TPM)

So with it activated (Lets say Microsoft) Microsoft will know  everywhere computer 1023 has been, but not who is using it, or where it is, that is until you log on to Facebook or read your E/Mails.

The above is one reason whyi will not be using Windows 11 (I dont trust Microsoft)

The aforementioned evening I was getting a taxi it was costing a fiver more on City Taxis app than it was on Uber, so its not always the case they make more money unless the cut they take is much bigger.

It was the same for me, city was showing a couple of quid more than uber, but no drivers were accepting jobs via city. Can only assume that city takes a bigger cut of the fare than uber.

  3. Most of the drivers for other firms also drive for uber. I dropped my motorbike in for a service a couple of weeks back, tried booking a cab home through the city taxis app, it showed there were 5 or 6 on the area, but didnt assign a driver. After 15 minutes waiting I cancelled that, booked one with uber, it turned up within 5 minutes and the car had both uber and city logos on the door. My wife had the same experience coming home from a night out last week. Can only think the drivers make more money from uber bookings so turn down the city ones in the hope an uber one comes up.

This is absolute nonsense, none of the songs were slowed down in any way whatsoever. this is the 5th time I've seen them since 2007 and he's never interacted much with the crowd so I don't expect him to, the songs were played brilliantly and Turner was on good form, seems to be just people that didn't attend putting this rubbish about.

Exactly this. From the first time I saw them at the boardwalk, and several times after that, getting bigger every gig, there's never been much in the way of audience interaction. In the early days they didn't even do encores.

  5. It was the bombay. The owners also had khans on West Street. Used to go to the bombay all the time, it changed into a more upmarket Indian (cafe guru, I think it was called) but wasn't as good. Now a Chinese place I think, I don't venture that way very often nowadays

WHY do the majority of call centres employ Foreign people that don't understand Yorkshire accents? :loopy:

I've lived in Sheffield for all 49 years of my life, my accent is as strong as anyone's, but I've never had any problem making myself understood by staff in overseas call centers, or non UK customers in my job. Maybe its not your accent that's your problem?

    My bold.

Thats a good idea. Last year I had my eyes tested. I could see perfectly well but some of the smaller signs (parking restrictions etc) were becoming difficult to see unless I was right up close.

Opticians told me I needed specs and WOW! The difference is incredible. I had no idea that my eyesight had deteriorated so much so like you I'll be getting tested once a year 👍

For the sake of 20 quid (which I can get back through Westfield that work pay for) it's a no brainer really

  8. I don't drive, but I have a full motorcycle licence and ride at least 200 miles a week getting  to work and back, sometimes more. I currently only need glasses for really close up work, but have my eyes tested every 12 months regardless. I don't know why anyone wouldn't, tbh. I'd hate to think I was in control of something capable of doing 180mph that could throw me off at  the slightest mistake if I couldn't see properly. It's bad enough being blinded by oncoming car headlights without being half blind on top of that.

    The poster has disabilities.

Watch the video posted above. If he's capable of putting the strap around his wrist and fastening it, he can take it off and fit a new one. It's as easy as pushing a button, pulling the old strap off the watch body, and pushing the new one in place. No need to pay a jeweller for that, who'd probably charge their minimum of 1 hours labour for 30 seconds work
