  1. I just put in an offer on a house and it was accepted. I too think that you should consider changing EA. When I was ringing the EAs to book viewings, one EA in particular would take my details and say he would ring me back in a few minutes to book the viewing. They never did. This happened quite a few times. So I asked someone else to book a viewing for me, as I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. The same thing happened when this friend tried to book a viewing. I also noticed that the houses that I had wanted to view stayed unsold for a fairly long period of time and then sold for Less than guide price when props in the area were generally going for at least the guide price. If I ever needed to sell my house, I would not use that particular EA. Good luck with your house sale.
  2. Thanks Cyclone, owls101 and Coutts. I am so glad i am not the only one in this situation. Makes me feel less like an oddball. Taking all the advice on board and learning plenty in the process.
  3. That is exactly how i am starting to feel. As i have to trave 1.5 hours just to view the properties, only to find them being sold off without the agent even offering me the chance to match or better any offers is killing me. I am really starting to like the envelope scenario! lol! please tell me you were joking! ---------- Post added 29-05-2014 at 08:15 ---------- Thanks babyalex1. I shall ring the agent today to tell them to contact me if the sale falls through. Am really feeling the househunting blues right now.
  4. Hi all I am new to this forum and would appreciate any advice on making offers on property in S10 area of sheffield. Todate, i have seen properties that say 'offers in ther region of....' When i do make offers, usually around £5000 less than the asking price, i find two days later that the property has been sold to the highest offer on the table. I have tried asking agents what the property went for to gauge where i am going wrong but they refuse to tell. Then i tried offering the asking price and still find the prop being sold to another. Please offer advice on what i should be doing to secure the property and where am i going wrong?
