  1. Hey, very interesting articles them, someone should do a dedicated thread in the food section about eating well on the smallest of budgets.
  2. Agree totally, there should be a strict criteria and people will only take advantage of it.
  3. Well, some days are fine and others I hate going to sleep but on the other hand cannot wait to be asleep so am not in this world for a few hours, sometimes I wish it was permanent sleep, I can't help being angry at myself and others for where am at in my life and am stuck in between thinking if I did things differently things would be different now, or maybe if I was born in another time that my circumstances would be different, I suppose I have to work with what I have and get on with it. I am stuck between rocks and hard places at times and am damned if I do and well, you know what I mean... I really wish I was stuck in time or could find alternate dimensions but am stuck on this path of uncertainty. My life is like egg shells and can quickly deviate and go off track, several good days can be outweighed by one single thing. ---------- Post added 28-04-2013 at 19:21 ---------- Well, looks like no good people will ever have fulfilling lives with someone of mutual love, commitment and attraction. I am doomed to hell then and will die an isolated death caused by an isolated existence.
  4. Do you ever have bad dreams or look back to your ex partners and are haunted by what happened years after, like the things that they or you did and that you were always used as a stop gap for them to gain better things and you are damaged and that suicide seems the only option to stop the pain that hurts so much and you are forever in grief for things that happened years ago!
  5. Hello, some of the non stick on my pan is coming off and the non stick in particular is rather poor so am looking for a replacement. I would love to get a tiny griddle pan to fit a few steaks on just for me and am looking for a big wok preferably with lid. I have heard that carbon steel is best for woks but you need to season them and am wondering if you can buy pre seasoned for best no stick.
  6. Raging Bull I know it is an accomplished film achieving many awards including Oscars but in my personal opinion. I just don't get it, it has no redeeming qualities what so ever and is in fact rather repulsive in places. The Godfather Yet again, a multi award winning accomplished film with stellar performances all the way through. But I just cannot get through 30 minutes without being bored silly, and as Family Guy says: It insists on itself way too much!
  7. Hello, I have tinned tuna in cupboard, crap sticks in fridge and some king prawns in freezer and want to know what to do with them. I am no expert but apart from making prawn cocktail salads and crap stick or tuna sarnis what else can I do. I sometimes put tuna with sweetcorn on jacket spuds with cheese and sometimes fry prawns and put in parsley sauce with some chilli flakes in. I have some roast veg in freezer, herbs and spices in cupboard, condiments and sauces, Chinese leaf, spring onions, lemon juice and dressings. I have gravy and parsley granules, soy sauce, curry sauces, nuts, dried fruit, flour, milk, tortilla wraps, frozen veg, microwave rice and frozen chips. When I have tuna I like to put vinegar on it to liven it up, I also love raw crap stick, but when I fry prawns they always go rubbery.
  8. Hello, I have no clue about photography and what settings do what and just keep settings on the presets mostly. But would like to know if anyone has got one of these cameras and could tell me exactly the settings I need to use for a variety of uses. Here is the camera I received at Xmas and am hoping to gain a deeper know how of its ins and outs so am not just confined to presets. Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ25 http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/LUMIX+Digital+Cameras/Superzoom+Cameras/DMC-TZ25/Overview/8616398/index.html
  9. Well, put a jinx on us Owls today but lets hope its a win next time as failure is not an option!
  10. Well, having seen various news stories lately regarding the sudden insurgence of food banks in the UK. Do you use them and where abouts in Sheffield are they, what criteria do you need to reach to be able to use them. I am staggered that considering we are meant to be one of the most developed countries in the western world and the year is 2013 Surely in this day and age, with the entire worlds resources at our fingertips, we should have eradicated hunger and poverty decades ago.
  11. I have tried to go to Foothills but cannot find my way there and the buses down town have no clue where Edgedale Road is.
  12. Well, I did receive a pair of these yesterday but having tried them am not overly keen on the fit and comfort. The footbed in particular is quite firm and have experienced pains under my heals when stood still in them. http://www.tauntonleisure.com/lowa-renegade-mens-gtx-mid-boots-dark-navy/p6265 Plus, if I got leather instead that they may be much more hard wearing and waterproofing.
  13. Hello, stumbled over Alt-Berg recently while looking for hiking boots with different width settings as I have a wide foot. I believe they are a local company based in Yorkshire and wondered what the word is on their gear. I have been looking at these boots and was wondering if anyone has bought them... http://www.altberg.co.uk/stockist-product/the-fremington-mens-boot/ Was thinking about getting the wide version in 9.5 as I am a 9 now so would like some movement in the boot but not too much. The extra wide may be too much.
  14. Well done Rotherham United and Doncaster Rovers for achieving promotion, sounds like amazing scenes on the radio. Now, if only the Blades can do the same in the play-offs
  15. Having watched aghast at a video shown by Channel 4 News about a Malaysian mother beating up an 8 month old baby. It was apparently uploaded to Facebook and some guy reported it and according to Facebook: It does not breach our codes of graphic violence! Hence, Facebook has looked the other way and allowed the video to stay. For further information, check out this video, be warned however as it may force you to destroy your monitor... <Link removed > I am so glad I removed myself from Fakebook as I call it, it is just an advert for show off people who post their every seconds to gain reactions. Facebook has removed for more trivial things like this like jokes about presidents and terrorists and even people protesting nationalities, WTF. While Facebook condones sick people beating up babies for all our enjoyment, WTF indeed
  16. Spoil sport Resident Evil
  17. Rite, time to list your classic video games from any platform... Arkanoid
  18. I meant human scales not cooking scales
  19. Had my second Zumba class today and am all worn out, it is really hard work. I also feel rather odd as I am the only man in the class but I suppose most men would not have the guts to do it in front of a room full of women. I am trying to set myself a goal of 2 healthy days a week, one on my Zumba day and maybe a day on weekend and work my way up. On these days I will limit my calorie intake and see where I go from there, I cannot cut every single thing out as I will never keep it up but starting small and working up to achievable goals should see me fine. On the rest of my days I will try and eat in moderation and maybe only have things when I have my meals instead of snacking in between. I used to have loads of decaf coffee but have been finding I feel better by just having tea so maybe one coffee in the morning should be fine. I cannot do it all at once so am starting small, can anyone recommend any cheap yet accurate digital weighing scales please.
  20. Upon watching the coverage on BBC 2, it was very interesting hearing Terry Griffiths and Dennis Taylor talking about kicks. They said that with all their research that they have still not found a cause or cure for the dreaded kick. When the cue ball strikes another ball it sometimes jumps and causes deviations in the object ball. I would like to open this up for debate as it is a fascinating discussion of sporting physics.
  21. I wonder how many people have used it to pass exams?
  22. Come on, who uses it, and how accurate is it for a source of information?
