  1. Renishaw Hall has a vineyard. I haven't sampled any of their wine but it's been going for 40 years so I don't see why Whirlow can't have some success aswell.

So Whirlow will be the highest vineyard in the country; I wonder where the most northerly one is?

  2. I think you might be surprised at how much these car parks actually return. From my knowledge, in the few months they have been in, they have already covered the cost of purchase and installation of the machines and any damage which has occurred.

It will be interesting to see how much money is raised , and will it be spent on the maintenance and upkeep of the parks.

Will all money raised go towards the parks or will it be spent elsewhere ? We shall see.

  3. I have just talked myself into buying a Merkur Futur of E.Bay £50 from what i have seen and heard about these razor's i dont think i will regret it, thanks all.

Well done..you won't regret it..don't forget to buy a decent shaving brush as well as a quality shaving soap...best to try a few different blades.

You're welcome..let us know how you get on.

    Cheers

  4. Can I recommend you buy a decent double edge safety razor, have a look on Amazon there are a few made by a company called Edwin Jagger. This should last you a lifetime.

It does take practise but you'll get a much better shave as well.

There are a few brands of blades too on amazon, it does work out much cheaper I bought 100 Derby extra blades for £8.90 much better value.

Try it you won't regret it.

  5. I love it when they're not in operation and I can glide down them whilst all the other muppets, like sheep, remain in the outside lane.

I can do this from Woodseats all the way to London Road; there's Queen's Road, Ecclesall Road and, as you say, Abbeydale Road.

These motorists either can't read; can't understand the straight forward signs or for some reason, are scared to use bus lanes when they're perfectly entitled to.

The one that runs past Ponsfords towards Heeley bridge is a good example of this.

  6. So would you like the Council to put it back into the state in which it was left to the people of Sheffield? It didn't have a car park then of course.

Please Planner1, Graves Park was left to the people of Sheffield by the late Alderman JG Graves, over the years there have been some well documented expamples of this council trying to sell off or even give away land that is not theirs to do so.

This is (so we are told) about the council trying to make up a shortfall in the budget by installing parking meters in the car parks of the various parks and any profit supposedly being ploughed back in to the upkeep of the various local parks.

Time will tell how much profit (if any) will be made, which will go towards the upkeep of our local parks.

  7. Give it a couple of years, then when the council realise its not cost effective for them to manage/maintain the parking meters as well collecting the money from the parking meters.

They'll sell the car parks off to the highest bidder claiming that they need to raise money due to austerity cuts etc etc, having to make more cut backs to staff etc.

Before long it will be run by one of the often mentioned parking companies on this forum.

I for one don't trust them.

  8. Hi, Over the years I've had similar problems with various cars I've driven. It sounds like incorrect posture of your back/pelvis caused because of the car seat.

Go and see your GP first to discuss your problem, then ask about going to see a chiropractor, I've been a few times to the one on Woodseats and they have sorted me out.

    Hope this helps.

  9. But they did waste an awful lot of Leisure Services budget in heir vain attempts to sell off parts of our parks that were made as charitable gifts to the people of Sheffield. There's never a shortage of cash for that sort of activity.

Well said Shytot..when it comes to our local parks I don't trust this Labour council one little bit..having been knocked back twice over Graves park it wouldn't surprise me if there is a hidden agenda behind all this.
