When I was a student in Manchester, I had a flat in Whalley Range. One night I walked into town with my mates and we stopped at a pub in Moss Side. As we entered, what seemed like a sea of black faces looked at us in silence. No words were exchanged but we just left. It was obvious to everyone we didn't belong there. I'll get me coat.

What I actually said was I'd like to do "Before I die" in Sheffield. Who's with me? If the answer is nobody, I'll re-assess, especially in light of time and costs Funny isn't it how nobody knows who I am, but still my virtual reputation matters! The question of the reputation of SF has occurred to me though. Oh I know you've done online "before I die", but I'm sure a little personal interaction would be beneficial to some/many ... dare I ask who might agree?

Read? Watch and listen! You might just laugh at the pirate's "before i die" but then again ... your mind has to be prepared for stuff like this, maybe you're not ready ... "I ain't tryina preach, I believe I can reach But your mind ain't prepared, I'll see you when you get there." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP1PXRiVoJw (caution: rap )

Try the links, you'll soon understand ... http://beforeidie.cc/ You may or may not be inspired, but you will understand. I'm guessing that with so many people in so many countries who do relate to this, there will be some in Sheffield who do too. It's not so wierd to recognise your own mortality and to think about your priorities in the time that's left and what you'd regret not having done when your time is up.

Yes I know, it's HEAVY. I'm the sort of guy who reads "Charlotte Street" by Danny Wallace (a hero of mine) and as a result seeks out Postman's Park in London to see the tiles ... It's only through appreciating our mortality that we can begin to live. please don't try to out-wierd me, you'll scare me! I do graveyards as well ... "Sacred to the memory of Frederick, beloved son of Mathew and Emma Dyson of Tapton Hall aged 16 years and 7 months, who was drowned at Crosspool, on the first day of January 1869, whilst rescuing a youth from the water. Fame give thy silver trumpet breath a hero to commend, who gave to the icy jaws of death himself, to save a friend." .. Fulwood Church

whoah ... "before I die" has five similar threads. I'm gonna post anyway without reading them. Ouch! Why? Well, this has to be seen: http://beforeidie.cc/ which I discovered from this: I'd like to do this in Sheffield. I recently lost a friend, a great guy, which makes this meaningful, but with no disrespect to my friend, I was kinda like very much in tune with the whole "life is not a dress rehearsal" vibe before his premature death (at just 48 years old). Before I die, I'd like to ... well, I ain't gonna say here, cos it's a listening thing, you say what you'd like to do anonymously, and despite the fact you don't know who I am, you don't need to hear what I'd like to do here and now, but I'd like to hear what you'd like to do before you die, anonymously, and maybe, just maybe, something good will come from that. I'd like to do "Before I die" in Sheffield. Who's with me? Unlike Marcus Brigstocke, I am serious. I'll explain when we meet up, if you PM me. B4 this weekend is out I'll be at a comedy club in York, going on a gentle cycle ride with friends who've just returned from Australia, and playing golf with an old friend in Rochdale. It's an unusual and exceptional weekend coming up, but it's got nothing to do with what I'd like to do "Before I die". The reason I mention this is ... please forgive me if I don't reply immediately to any posts or PMs.

What courses do you play in Sheffield monsieur une poste? ~~~ Tilde, tilde tilde? Oh, that's my new code for "I feel unclean for having replied".
