I saw the amazing sculptures there a few years ago. I wandered in to get a closer look and was abruptly told to eff off as it was private property.
Exactly same response I got when I went in the bottom entrance years ago when it had just opened when out dog-walking. There were no signs anywhere then to say it was private property. Not my cup of tea anyway!

Future Learn have a massive choice of subjects on offer - both professional and interest only topics - some leading to qualifications I think and/or counting towards CPD.

I have been to the Durham one - pretty sure it won't have been this one as it's an old manor house and not ever a type of 'workhouse 'or childrens home.

Bet it wasn't like this in the good old days of community spirit when rationing was going on...

Hopefully I won't be classed as a loon - having had personal experience of something similar! I know its not quite the same but I had sedation and epidural when I had haemorrhoids removed several years ago. It knocks you out but hasn't got the dangers of General anaesthetic - I recommend it. Think it's commonly used nowadays.

Yes - noticed these on Snake Pass - strange. Thought it was graffiti at first.

I am in love with Ken Bruce on Radio 2-sounds such a nice bloke.
And Monty Don-he's got such a gentle way about him- with his dogs too.

His teeth alone are enough to put me off!

This reminds me of people who place large stones/rocks on 'their' grass verges outside their houses. I know it's annoying to have verges churned up but it's not their right either to stop people parking on verges.

Thanks for all the info everyone - it's made me realise I'm even more of a computer dinosaur than I thought😊

And please don't click on the "unsubscribe" as that will result in more spam emails once they know the address is actively in use.
Really? - didn't know that - thought it meant the opposite!

Thank you😊

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of spam e-mails for good?! I am sick of getting up to 20 e-mails every day (all from USA) offering me various 'services' from women!! ( I am a straight 66 year old happily-married female!) Most of them don't have an unsubscribe option and those that do just say that 'this is a dodgy website' or words to that effect and advising me not to proceed. It's driving me mad! Annoying thing is that husband doesn't get any!!
Please help!
Thank you in advance!

It's an overwhelming physical need, which leads to appalling side effects if not met. Suggesting that it's a choice is idiotic. It's an illness.
Maybe it's an illness now but initially it was a choice.

The problem is when you get aggressive drivers who streak down the right-hand lane at a rate of knots to the end of the lane where it merges and then just shove in instead of going down at a 'normal' speed and waiting to be let in earlier on.

The bus companies are too interested in making profits to bring conductors back even though it was a much more satisfactory and quicker service when they had them. I feel much safer on the tram where a conductor is on hand to help with any potential problems that might arise be it with tickets or people!

Terrible delivery service which delivers nothing but lies. Have a look at the reviews. Impossible to contact by any method.

You can look up the birth here on this free index then order the birth certificate giving the details of place of birth:
Regards,
Duffems
Thank you - got her birth certificate but it only says district not precise address. Think I might have got it now though.
-
As per title - does anyone know if or how this is possible? There are lots of family tree websites but they only seem to give info on people not places of birth. I know the town but that is all and would love to see the house where she was born.
Thanks in advance.

I’m glad about that. I stand at the bus stop in front of the weir and love to look over the wall at the gushing water, and the ducks paddling happily along.
Saw a kingfisher flying under the bridge a few weeks ago!

Really, what's going on, could you tell? I still can't seem to see any planning applications for it
Just been covered in scaffolding for the last week or so and surrounded by security fencing.

At last! - work going on here after about 20+ years of neglect. Just the other big old ex-children's home on Mortimer Road to sort out now!

Yes-used to love the Eccie Road one but that was in a much better position.
