We have traditional Yorkshire folk carols every Thursday between now and the end of the year (including Boxing Day). The singing starts at 7.30pm,and,as one of Sheffield's very few genuine free-houses have rather a good selection of real ales on offer as well as home made mulled wine. If you know the tune to Ilkley Moor Bah Tat you should be ok!

If you liked The Hummingbirds you'll love The Big City Blues Band - live at The Ale House,Fraser Road at 8.30 pm Saturday 8th December.Free entry. As well as a great band we stock some great ales - tomorrow there'll be Acorn,Black Iris,Crouch Vale,Dark Star,Jarrow and Saltaire ales on the bar!

Saturday 1st December 8.30pm we have The Ainsley Stones Combo supported by Velvet Goldmine - free entry as well as one of the best selection of ales in Sheffield!

The Ale House hosts it's first comedy night on Thursday 6th December,2012. £3 advance ticket price - no entry without a ticket on the night. A minimum of 6 real ales from £2.30 per pint.

For the remaining few who choose not to worship at the altar of the great god football we have a real treat in store tomorrow. Sheffield City Morris Men will entertain us from 7.45pm with their usual display of athleticism and grace - and we'll do our bit by pricing all our real ales up at £2 per pint while the footie is on (full price at the half-time interval). If you have never seen The Twos treat yourself to a visit to The Ale House, Fraser Road, on Saturday. We are also having a pop quiz and might squeeze in a silly game or two. The best ales in Sheffield 8 from one of the very few totally free of tie pubs in Sheffield.

One of our very favourite bands,Route 66, are playing for us again on Saturday night at The Ale House, Fraser Road, Millhouses. Great r & b band playing Chuck Berry,Dr Feelgood, Rolling Stones, etc., together with original material of their own. Our gigs are 100% free and our pub is 100% free of tie. So come on down and sample the delights of ales by Dark Star, Magic Rock, Blue Monkey, Saltaire and others in one of the friendliest environments in Sheffield.

Curious is on tonight (3.9%) £2.50 - we also stock Rapture,High Wire and Dark Arts. All will be on the bar within the next few days - together with the current overall champion beer of Britain - Oscar Wilde (3.7) £2.40. Should have a fair selection for Sarah Mac night on Saturday!

We have two up and coming Sheffield bands playing at The Ale House, Fraser Road, tonight:- Bubblin' Under - Acoustic/Harmony Rock/Pop Trio and The Twos - Garage/Blues/Rock plus the usual superb selection of real ales including (what else) - Magic Rock!

Amelia Carter is not a guest beer - but if she was she would be a lively,fruity full-bodied,full voiced award winning ale - most palatable! While on the subject of beers - the CAMRA champion beer of the year will be in our cellar tomorrow and should be on the bar late next week.

We are dead chuffed to have Amelia Carter and her band back this coming Saturday (14th April). Free entry and a great choice of ales in our entirely free of brewery tie pub. Magic Rock, Dancing Duck, Abbeydale, Salamander, Stroud, Saltaire and Oxfordshire Ales should all be vying for a place on the bar come Saturday - or maybe you prefer paying for your entertainment at an Enterprise tied house?
