  1. i lived in a new build here for a year in 3rd year of uni. On the first new estate on the left as you go up park grange road. The house was excellent with solar power n all. It backed onto norfolk park and was very cheap. However within 3 months my friends car was broken into twice. After the 3rd time he stopped replacing the windopw glass and left a duck taped wooden panel in. Also the build quality of the new homes leaves a lot to be desired. They are nice and "angular" but are made of plaster board and have quite budget kitchens unless they have been improved by a previous owner or landlord so after a few more years im sure some will look a lot worse for wear.
  2. Hi all, this is my first thread so bear with me if there are any errors or if it is in the wrong category. I work for a visitor attraction in the local area and am crying out for any steel heritage material anyone may have gathering dust or unused. I am attempting to put together a gallery for any photographs, long service treasures, certificates, magazines, newspaper cuttings, verbal and written accounts, ingots! Billets! You name it. If you or anyone you know was in the steel industry and has anything from a verbal account of what you or they did to an unwanted photograph or artefact from the steel industry please get in touch. For the time being, replies to this thread will do and if anybody does have anything substantial I will give you alternative ways to contact me and hopefully we can sort something out. It is a big shame that there aren't more places to learn about our local past and an even bigger shame that what places we do have, are being overlooked, especially by younger generations. I am aiming to merge the steel heritage of our area with our existing attractions exhibits in order to hopefully reach people who do not necessarily show interest in it. I do already have quite a substantial amount of stuff to display but want to make sure there are no gems out there worth displaying. Any help at all would go a long way to improving the exhibition and for me it is important that most of the content was provided by people from the steel industry rather than some pre fabricated material copied from Google or one of the numerous text books that cover the subject.
