Hi all, I have just started tracing my family tree and could do with some help if anyone out there can assist me... My father/grandfather are from the Brightside and Wincobank areas of Sheffield. My grandfather is John (Jack) Reeder, wife Alice. I know he was an engineer and worked for both Steel, Peech and Tozer and Davey Utd. He retired in 1960 but I'm unsure of the exact dates which he worked at the different companies. My father is Peter and his brother John. They also had a sister Doreen. If anyone remembers them from work, home or school I would be really grateful. Many thanks, Andy

Hi there, I don't suppose you remember the name of the lad you went to school with do you? My granddad worked at Davey Utd (retired in 1960), his son Peter Reeder went on to play for Sheffield United. I don't suppose Peter is the lad you went to school with is he? Many thanks, Andy

Hi all, My Granddad, John (Jack) Reeder, worked for Davey utd, possibly in the fifties (maybe before) as works Superintendant. But, I know he was also an engineer so could have worked in either technical, engineering or testing departments of the company as well. I think he retired around 1960 and moved to Blackpool. I would be very interested if anyone knew him or knew what sort of work he was involved in. I'm not from the Sheffield area and so know very little about the city or Davey Utd itself. Hi everyone, My Granddad worked at Davey united as the works superintendant. I'm not sure when he started but he retired from the company in 1960. His name was John (Jack) Reeder. I know he was an engineer by trade so may also have worked in this department. Does anyone remember working with him? Cheers, Andy

Hi My Granddad worked for Davy utd in the fifties as works Superintendant, I think he retired around 1960 and moved to Blackpool. I would be very interested if anyone knew him or knew what sort of work he was involved in as I don’t know Sheffield or anything about Davy utd at all. His name was John (Jack) Reeder. Regards Andy
