  1. Hi All!!! I was posting on here a few months ago when I first quit with Champix. It seems all my quit buddies have disappeared, I hope they're all doing well. Champix did the trick with me. I did the full 12 weeks course with the ususal side effects, got to a whole 4 months smoke free!!!! Then I cocked up big time!!! Went on a family holiday to Portugal, had a stressful journey from the airport to the villa, thought a couple of the sister in laws fags wouldn't do any harm, blah blah blah. Spent the whole week smoking!!! Soon as I got back I went straight to the doctors and fortunately my doctor gave me a second chance. I quit on Monday, it really wasn't difficult, the tabs kicked in pretty quick and just made me realise what I wasn't missing. Its certainly made me think twice about the next time I get tempted. Anyway, good luck to you all!!! You can do this!!! xgx
  2. Firstly, I'm soooo glad i'm not the only person getting pee'd off with the demics on here trying to depress us all!!!! Hey tash!!! I've had a funny old weekend!!! I was trying to wean myself off the tabs by taking one a day for an extra week, well, I lasted all of 2 days before I forgot to take my tablet so I sacked it altogether!!! A couple of days after this, I have just enjoyed the best 2 nights sleep i've had in 13 weeks!!! Still some dodgy dreams in there but i've slept well and woke up early feeling refreshed!!! Could be something to do with the fab weather we've had but I think the light has appeared at the end of the tunnell. I've had a few cravings too, but they've been more than managable! Got a lung full of someones fag outside McDonalds today, It nearly put me off my burger!!! Keep going hun!!! Its gonna get better!!! xgx
  3. Here Here sittingbull!!! This forum has turned into a negative doom and gloom in the last week or so! I, unlike your good self, don't feel sorry for these people. This forum has been an absolute god send to me so I can't imagine the negative effect its having on any newbies out there at the moment! This drug has been an amazing help to a lot more people than your minority, please go and start your own forum elsewhere!!!
  4. Hi all!!! Just thought i'd drop in to let you all know I have finally completed the 12 week course of Champix!!! Yay!!!! However, i've decided to give myself an extra week just taking 1 tablet a day at lunchtime. I feel great! 10 weeks and 5 days smoke free and not even the urge for a sneaky puff!! Compared to my failed attempt last year, this is a major achievement for me. Yes i've gained a couple of pounds and re-discovered my love of food, but with my new found love of exercise, a couple of pounds is nothing compared to last years full stone! Just wanted to pop in and say a massive thank you to all of you on this forum, especially the peeps that have been on the same-ish timeline as me - Oldshirty, tashnat, soozie to mention only 3 but there are so many more, thank you to you all, you've been a massive support and I will continue to recommend this forum to anyone I know attempting to quit with Champix. I will also continue to come on here myself and offer any advice I can to future newbies and I suppose still for my own support as i've still got a long way to go!!!! To anyone about to quit with Champix! With the right frame of mind, these tablets are a wonder drug! Yes you'll have your moments, but they will be much more managable and easier than without them!!! Always stay positive, constantly remind yourself as to why your doing this and enjoy all that extra cash! Everyone has disappeared lately, would be nice to have a few updates from the Chamquitters!!! I am very proud to be a part of your team!!! Lots a love, Gemma xgx
  5. Bloody hell OS!!! It comes in flavours?????? Might have to buy one to quit food, haha!! xgx
  6. OS, its so nice to hear (read) your happy! If you've found something thats working for you then why not??? Well done hun and keep up the good work!!! xgx
  7. Hi all!!!! Hope all is well with you guys!!! Today marks 8 weeks smoke free for me and I also took my last trip to see my doctor for my final 2 weeks dose. Well she's given me 4 weeks but she seems to think I will be fine to just complete the 12 week course, yey!!!! I'm so looking forward to a good nights sleep, LOL!!! Have a good weekend guys, keep up the good work!!! xgx
  8. Hi all! Glad to see all is well!!! Hello to Inger! I'm a second timer aswell so I know what your going through!!! OS, glad to see your still hanging on in there hun! How you feeling??? Well i'm 7 weeks smoke free!!!!! And I have to "beg to differ" with OS on the weight losing issue. Last year I put on a full stone in 8 weeks. After I started smoking again I only lost about half of that so I knew another stone on top of that this time would not do!!! I've been so focused on my exercise plan and taking care of what i'm eating, I can't help but think its steered me away from thinking about smoking! And I'm keeping the weight off!!! To all the other Chamquitters, where are you???? Hope your all ok and doing well!!! xgx
  9. Hi all!!!! Just popping in for a catch up!!!! I'm 6 weeks and 2 days smoke free!!!!! Yey!!! Can't believe how well i'm doing but I will second the advice to newbies that Tash gave about the cravings. They will appear and bite you on the backside when you least expect it but they are managable and mine have been very few and far between. OS, Glad to see your still hanging on in there!!! And I totally agree with getting out of the house whenever you can!!! I'm so enjoying walking at the moment, especially when the sun is shining and spring is in the air!!!! Stick with it hun!!! Tash, i'm very much enjoying your posts at the moment :-) Hope all is going well after your half term wobbles, haha!!! And, yeah, where are my invites guys???? Paddy, 2 weeks is brilliant, you must be really chuffed with yourself!! Well done hun!!! SJ, well done for finally taking the plunge!!!! If you need any advice, were all here to help! Good luck!!! Hope everyone else is good and doing well. Keep going Chamquitters!!!! xgx
  10. Ok...........!!!! :-S Good to hear from you OS!!!!!! Hang on in there hun!!!! :-) xgx
  11. Thanks Luby and Tash!!!! I've felt much better today!!! Think it just proves that although we have these little miracle pills, we still need that little bit of will power to back us up!!! I keep thinking back to last year and how easily I caved in, I think thats were the dream came from the other night, i'm so determined to win this battle as I fear its the last chance I have. If I don't do it this time I never will and I really don't want to smoke anymore!!! With each and every day I wake up I'm so proud of myself, it makes it so worth while!!! So to all of you, keep going Chamquitters!!! xgx Ps) Well done so far Tash, 2 weeks is brilliant and it does get easier and you find it easier to get over the cravings and bad days!!! :-) xgx
  12. Bloody hell I need to keep on here everyday cos you lot get busy when i'm not around, LOL!!! Alright Chamquitters!!!!! Firstly, Hi Lubylou! Well done for taking that step into second time rounders!!! Theres a few of us on here at the moment that are on our second attempt so were all with you, good luck hun!!! To all my other Chamquitters, hope all is going well with you's!!!! Well, i'm 5 weeks smoke free now and tonight has probably been my hardest night!!! Loads of cravings....... but i'm mangaing!!! I like a drink at the weekend and tonight i've changed my usual tipple from cider to wine and I can only put it down to that!!!! But like I say, i'm coping with it! I actually had a dream last night where I was in a pub and decided I needed a fag and went outside for one. Once I was out there, I pulled a packet of fags out of my pocket and said, no I don't want one, so I took them from the packet and snapped them all up! When I woke up this morning I was so relieved I didn't have one and was actually really proud of myself, haha!!!! The power of Champix dreaming hey!!! OS, I know i'm going back to an old convo here but, the nausea gets either non exsistant or bearable!!!!! x So Chamquitters, keep going my friends!!!!! xgx
  13. Soozie, that must of been really hard for you to sit and write that! I'm so sorry about your brother. Thank you for sharing it with us, it will certainly help me! Makes you realise how precious life is, and how precious the people in your life are. Your doing great too so well done!!! Well done also Paddy and ttdab!!! As for the changable mood, I've had my crabby moments, especially in my 2nd week of not smoking but i'm calming down a bit now so maybe its a case of your body adjusting to both the tablets and quitting!!! xgx
  14. Hey OS I'm liking Chamquitters, LOL!!! Is it just the nausea that made you do your tabs in that way??? I'm not a morning person OS and I work shifts so I take my morning tablet between 11am-12pm cos that way it gives me time to wake up, have a brew, something to eat and then take my tablet. It means, after the 8 hour rule advice, I take my evening tablet between 7pm-8pm! So far, I've managed to deal with the nausea, I've not really suffered with it much! As for the second time rounders advice, I really don't know!!!! Compared to last year i'm just finding it all a lot easier, but then like i've said before, I smoked a lot more last year! I think the focusing on the exercising has taken a lot of my thought time. I now feel guilty if I don't do my 30 mins a day (6 days a week mind, need a day off, haha)!!! I feel really good for it too! But then I suppose everyone is differnet OS! Be honest with your quit nurse tomorrow and she what she says!!! Let us know how you get on!!! xgx
