  1. yes i do remember the cafe , and i also went in the sportsman with the other nurses , nice to hear from you
  2. i remember that family think there was a boy and girl , i cant think of their name
  3. did anyone grow up on archdale road in the 50s and 60s , i lived at 152 on the newer houses ,
  4. did any one start their pupil nurse training at lodge moor in 1969 to 1970 , mr palmer was one of the tutors of class 21 , there was only 6 of us left in that class by the end of our training and we all passed through , we had a group photograph taken at the end of the course ,and i lost mine a few years back it would be nice to see it again . i was one of the last nurses to care for dennis in the last iron lung ,before he died . it would also be nice to hear from any spinal patient in 1970
  5. did you know the malkin twins carol and margaret i think they lived on the circle they went to pipworth road scool in the 50s
  6. does anyone remeber mrs rhyals , she lived on stonecliffe road and ran the sunday school at st swithuns church

  10. hi bacardi , i am 61 so you would have been a baby when i was there , i lived at 152 archdale rd and moved to norfolk park when i was 20 x i remember kevin x i worked at evans chemist on manor park centre about 1966

  12. does any one remember the shop opposite the steel inn it was run by mrs weed ,we used to buy jubblies frozen for 3 pennies , and she made luckie bags ,she would tell us off if we messed about , which i never did , lol

  14. can i just say to chris hall , that it wasnt you who hit me with the flying plank it was my brother , i didnt end up in hospital just had a few bruises x im sure the person you hit will have forgiven you x
  15. any body know irene kenworthy who lived on archdale rd on the new houses
  16. does anyone remember " THE RECK " on the manor near archdale road it was a play ground in the 50s and 60s an old man called pop taylor used to sit in his hut making sure we behaved ourselves , he wouldnt stand a chance now bless him , i got knocked out with the flying plank , no health and safety then you just got over it .

  19. i went to pipworth road school , i left in 1964 , i was june hardy then ,i told the careers officer i wanted to go into nursing , he said i wasnt clever enough and sent me to a factory job but instead got a job in a chemist learnt all about medicines 2 years later trained as a nurse , passed in 1971 and im still working . so dont let anybody tell you that you cant do something because your not good enough , we are all good enough .
  20. does any one remember the mojo club on barnsley road , what a place it was ,run by pete and jeff stringfellow ,i loved it , but my mother never knew i went there or she would have locked me up , they later opened a club on dixon lane but cant remember the name
  21. i take my dogs for a walk accross shortbrook field on westfield and just before you reach the stream there are 2 large patches of rough land where buildings must have stood i am curiouse at what must have stood there , does any body know ? june
