The Conservatives have already hiked taxation to record levels.

As someone once said taxation and death are inevitable and the question is who has a policy for fair taxation and what should the revenue be spent on.

I agree .Sunak said he was looking after those who had a long working life.So those in a position to do so should not be totally reliant on the State Pension which is not sufficient for most to maintain a good standard of living 

The beneficiaries will mainly be those who only have the state pension.

I have never understood why people were allowed to draw money out of their pension pots with the inevitable result that some will live for today and expect state support in the future  

What on earth makes you think that every European country and most countries around the world have their own brand of racism.

I always liked the smell of Izal disinfectant when my mum was mopping the floor.

Most of the controversies resulting from VAR result from the offside rulings. 

Firstly I would extend the penalty area line out to the touchline and anyone offside within that area is deemed to be actively involved in play.

Secondly the review for offside should only relate to the position of the players feet.

Let the referees get on with their job and have responsibility for fouls ,bookings,penalties. 

VAR is useful for deciding whether the ball crosses the goal line and of questionable benefit when you consider what it detracts from the game.

Possibly. We've had a huge influx of migrants both legal and illegal over the years. Maybe their countries of origin don't offer vaccines like we do here so migrants are distrustful of such things?

If this is still of interest to you then one of the poor babies appears to be of Welsh ethnicity which is probably not what you were hoping for and the mum had been vaccinated during pregnancy.

My thoughts are that the development of MRNA jabs which were instrumental in the rapid rollout of the Covid vaccine will continue to present other benefits as R&D continues.

I have been to at least one session of snooker at The Crucible every year since Mike Watterson first introduced it.

That is purely to taste the atmosphere because let’s face it the best view is on the television.

It is the relative intimacy of the theatre that makes it special so the thought of sitting on row Z in a 2000 plus seater stadium has no attraction for me at all.

I have the same feeling about major artists and bands in the big stadiums.

The best gigs that I have been to range from pubs to the likes of The City Hall,Leadmill and paying hundreds of pounds to watch big TV screens in arenas is always lacking that buzz.

However,money will talk and a 3 week event cannot justify a purpose built setting costing millions.

If there was a profit to be had then World Snooker would build its own purpose built arena in London or wherever for all of its tournaments.

Buying a house for peanuts has never been the case in my opinion .It has always been the biggest major purchase for most people and my circle of friends who all bought houses in their early to late 20s did so based on saving for a deposit and getting a mortgage base on a multiplier of around 2.5 times of earnings.

We did have the hope and expectation that after a few years that our earnings would rise to make things more affordable but had to contend with a rapid escalation of interest rates at times.

Not at all.

I will wait until the “growing frustration “reaches me first hand and then ask why anyone should be frustrated at not knowing the name of a criminal who is in custody.

Daniel Doncaster’s made mainly Heat Resisting castings in Nickel Chrome alloys for furnace parts and furnace furniture.

The Hoyle Street Foundry originally used a bank of graphite crucibles capable of melting around 50 Kgs of metal per crucible.These were oil fired in the  1960s but historically I believe they used coke.

The metal was cast into sand moulds and fettled using hand and swing grinders.Although I worked in the Sales Office at Penistone at Penistone Rd I did few Saturday mornings at Hoyle St to earn a few extra quid overtime as a 20 year old.

I remember a few of the blokes who worked there doing some very hard graft on the furnaces and grinding in particular.Hot ,heavy and at times hazardous graft.

I suppose the works closed around 1970 and the business transferred to the main Penistone Rd site using HF melting.

I believe some of the old tackle was taken by Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet
