The World Snooker Championship is professional snooker’s most prestigious tournament and one of Sheffield’s biggest sporting events. Returning to the iconic Crucible Theatre, 32 of the world’s best players will battle it out in a knockout-style tournament over 17 days.

    I would like to know what people think about the world championship leaving Sheffield. There is only 2 or 3 years left to

    play at the crucible; Barry Hearn , now says that the venue must change (bigger) or it will go somewhere else. I can't see the council putting up the money for a bigger venue or even to alter the Crucible .
