There are a few very funny people on telly who as soon as they appear make you smile. One of my favourites is the British guy trying to be a French policeman on "Allo Allo" he cracks me up every time I see him. The are probably loads more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Queenie was fantastic! Miranda Richardson was just perfect for that role.

Just checked, and apparently Blackadder II was first broadcast in 1986. Do I ever feel old? :o

Basil Fawlty on TV without a shadow of a doubt. I know it's hardly original, but what a brilliantly portrayed character. Sybil runs a close second.

To make me want to laugh before hearing him though, the ultimate for me is "Rambling Syd Rumpo" from "Round The Horne".

Pure, pure genius from the writers, and Kenneth Williams' delivery was sublime.
