View Full Version : Who is your favourite comedy character?
There are a few very funny people on telly who as soon as they appear make you smile. One of my favourites is the British guy trying to be a French policeman on "Allo Allo" he cracks me up every time I see him. The are probably loads more but I can't think of them at the moment.
Edmund Blackadder.
Father Dougal.
Rimmer.
Baldrick is a star a hero to the unwashed and down trodden.

He is indeed. I also had a soft spot for Captain Darling and Lord Flasheart.
sTaGeWaLkEr 17-07-2007, 21:21 Karen Walker - Will and Grace.
The woman rocks!
:)
Oh, and Chandler from 'Friends' and Niles from 'Frasier'.
Hyacinth bucket from keeping up appearences or tim allen from home improvement
Del and Rodney were good but I always thought that Grandad was a lot funnier than Uncle Albert
Gawd - there are so many! :)
Gladys Pugh
Edith Artois
Mr Humphries
Patsy Stone
Jill Tyrell
Just a few that spring to mind - a very difficult question. :D
Baldrick is the first one that springs to mind :)

Queenie was fantastic! Miranda Richardson was just perfect for that role.
Just checked, and apparently Blackadder II was first broadcast in 1986. Do I ever feel old? :o
Bill Owen always had me in stitches, as did the whole of the Red Dwarf gang, I still laugh thinking of Arnold Rimmer's long winded salutes! :hihi:
StarSparkle 17-07-2007, 21:42 He is indeed. I also had a soft spot for Captain Darling and Lord Flasheart.
I had a bit of a soft spot for George - if he'd lived, he's probably have 'grown up' into Bertie Wooster! :P

happyhippy 24-07-2007, 02:41 Basil Fawlty on TV without a shadow of a doubt. I know it's hardly original, but what a brilliantly portrayed character. Sybil runs a close second.
To make me want to laugh before hearing him though, the ultimate for me is "Rambling Syd Rumpo" from "Round The Horne".
Pure, pure genius from the writers, and Kenneth Williams' delivery was sublime.
JD from scrubs, only fools and horses makes me giggle too
tell ya what though, cant stand that catherine tate whos apparently gonna be on dr who, and little britain bores me too.
