Guest poppins   #1 Posted October 4, 2004 Any Firefighters in this forum ?  My husbands a retired F/F from the states, i visited the Sheffield Fire Dept a couple of years ago, i was very impressed with the museum, i think it was just starting.  Why are they a strike ? or is it over with now ?  Is it good pay ? it is over here now, never was when my husband first went on, he did 36 years with the dept, has a nice pension now, in later years the overtime was great, and plenty of it.  Althought now they are first responders to all calls.
