I think the best way to get to Colchester is into London and out from Liverpool Street. I went to Ipswich that way for the infamous 'bets' scandal' game. I also went to the fixture the following year and Spurs' reserves had been playing at Colchester and got on our train bound for London. There were still a few names in their reserve team including Blanchflower and for autograph-hunters like ourselves, it was brilliant.

Getting from the North to Newmarket (races) by public transport is also extremely difficult.
