ccp6128 10 #1 Posted May 31, 2016 my elderly mothers care charges for carewatch visits is usually about £40 a week, but this months bill has jumped to £72 a week. i rang the council just assumed it was an error on the bill but it is right, they said it was part of the attendance allowance that was being taken back because of night visits that are not being used, didn't sound too convincing. just wondered if anyone else has come across it and has a better explanation. jane2008 15 #2 Posted June 5, 2016 I can't explain it but my daughters care costs have risen from just over £16 to nearly £47 per week
 Share this content via...
ccp6128 10 #3 Posted June 6, 2016 spoke to the council again and what they say is if you get the higher rate attendance allowance and don`t have night care calls they are taking the difference between the two rates back. about £30 or so.
