gluedtopc
I've just bought a new bathroom sink. The tap tails are flexi type which screw into the tap body. The other end of the tails are standard compression type. Am I ok to connect these ends straight onto the existing push fit type pipes(possibly using a pipe insert) , using the but and olive supplies with the tap tails? Thanks
corgigasman
You can do that. I would prefer to connect the compression fitting on the tap's flexi to a bit of copper, then fit a full-bore isolation valve, a bit more copper, then a speedfit straight coupler (with insert in your existing polypipe). Each installer does it their own way, I just like compressions fitted to copper, that's all :-)
gluedtopc
Thanks Steve, would there be anything wrong in using a push fit valve after the bit of copper?
corgigasman
That would be fine, many different ways and all as good if done correct :-)
gluedtopc
Thanks for the advice-much appreciated. The last time I did mixer taps it was all copper to copper!!
