I pointed it out because the terms 'apple cider' and 'pear cider' annoy me a bit. Cider is always made from apples and Perry is the same type of drink made from pears.

You'll have to be annoyed even more now Nagel, Cider and Perry are different and 'pear Cider' is a distinct drink, different to 'perry' It's all in the technique, and what pears you use, but broadly speaking Pear Cider is made with sweeter dessert pears, and perry with smaller tarter perry pears.
