Calling all crafters. Sharrow needs you.

Recommended Posts

I, along with a lovely lady from the Sharrow Community Forum have embarked on a little project. We have started to make edible, wildlife gardens in public areas using external funding and volunteers around the area. We are trying to create a sense of community pride and do our bit to harvest the alive and kicking Green Ethos that many of the inhabitants of the area have. However, to do this, you have to try and encompass as many different sections of the community as possible, this is where you come in.

We are thinking of organising and urban knitting yarn bombing event when the gardens are a bit more established and are looking for volunteer crafters to come down armed with their crochet hooks, knitting needles and odds and ends of wool to adorn some of our fences, trees and other features!! We would like to time this event just before our summer street Party on Langdon Street so that the fruits of all your wonderful labour will have as much appreciation and public exposure as possible.

Hi there, it's me Heidi, I've sent you an email and I've put it on Ravelry as well. There are a lot of knitters in that area who are on the forum, it would be nice to meet some new people in the area as well.

I have made a grave error!!

The room has been booked for the meeting for the 29th of Januray, not the 31st!! It is still in The Old Junior School in Sharrow and still beings at 6.30. Feel free to bring along any children and interested friends or family!

Refreshments will be provided :) Hope to see you there.
