chidorii   10 #1 Posted September 15, 2013 Thinking of going to this part of the Don next Sunday. Just checked the website and there's a match on, pegs 6-25. My question is will me and a friend be able to get on at about 6.30ish? Is there many pegs after 25?  Any info would be great, cheers,
 Share this content via...

chidorii   10 #3 Posted September 24, 2013 We didn't end up going, we fished the meadowhall stretch instead,  River was very slow even though conditions seemed good, perhaps not enough water. Had a cracking 2lb7oz trout though so cannot complain.
 Share this content via...

chidorii   10 #5 Posted September 25, 2013 Access isn't terribly good to be honest, plenty of single pegs if you can get to the bank, usually there's a steep embankment to get down, in the spring and early summer there's thick brambles and nettles, but these fade away as some anglers cut through them.  If you can get down though and the conditions are good - a great day can be had, the river is teaming with Dace, Roach, Trout, Grayling and Perch - and there's always a good chance of a nice chub to 4lb. The luckier amongst us will have a shot at a barbel too! Don Barbel still elude me haha.  There's some less steep banks just beyond the carpark next to M&S, the pegs have been cleared by fellow anglers but I haven't tried those yet - they look a little barbely.  I go down on my bicycle so don't know where there is to park.
