Is it important to have a local surveyor?

Hi,

 

As per the title, is it important to get a local surveyor or are there any issues with just getting someone from further afield? I'm looking to get a home buyers survey report done.

 

Its for a property in Crookes.

 

Any recommendations would be most welcome.

You need someone with expertise re the locality of the property and this type of property, at least.
