shortcrust   10 #3 Posted June 23, 2012 You obviously have to notify them of a change of address, but you do not need to change your signing office. For example, you can live in Birmingham but be registered at a Sheffield jobcentre. However, be prepared for the jobcentre to lie to you about this! I worked at a jobcentre in London for a while and they would tell people from other areas that they couldn't register there. They don't like having out of area people on the books for lots of reasons, some of which are quite understandable.  Just stick to you guns and if they tell you that you have to move offices tell them that you know that that is incorrect and that you will not discuss the matter in person or over the phone.
