An hour should be plenty to Glossop but it only takes an accident somewhere or a bit of bad weather to add substantially to that. Not sure about Hyde but Mottram Moor can be a nightmare so I would say an hour and a half at least to be safe. The main problem is once you're past Glossop there's virtually no scope for detours. Sid Umpley Posted May 17, 2012 Share Posted May 17, 2012 i do that trip 5 days a week. the snake pass from rivelin to the centre of glossop is 30 minutes. but if you wanted to be in hyde you can add 45 mins to that. there's standing traffic from dintin to the top of motram bank from 7am.
