Whitwell Festival of Music, which takes place during 7/8/9th September (just off J30 of M1) is a charity event now in its 4th year.

All artists play for free, but we provide excellent venue, staging, backline, sound engineers (done the likes of Glastonbury etc) and an opportunity to sell merchandise, gain new fans etc. Free beer & food for musicians.

There are 2 stages, indoor and outdoor, plus open mic, workshops, stalls and 3 bars including real ales. There are also basic camping facilities nearby in the village. Around 750 people attended the festival on the main day last year.

We are looking for quality artists and bands of all genres: originals and covers bands to do a set of around 40 minutes.

The following opportunities are available:

Friday night indoor stage (genres not decided yet)

Saturday afternoon and evening indoor stage (folk, acoustic, singer-songwriter)

Saturday afternoon and evening main stage outdoor (all genres - particularly welcome something a bit different from usual rock/indie/punk covers)

Sunday afternoon indoor stage (jazz, acoustic, easy-going chill out).

To apply please find 'Whitwell Festival of Music' on either Facebook or our own website via google.

Please send short biog, links to music/video tracks and details of recent and forthcoming gigs. Thanks.

Also looking for children's entertainers, walkabout artists, morris team, family-friendly comedians.

Applications open until the end of May.

Cheers.

Keep the applications coming in - some of the bands who have got back to us so far are fantastic and we will definitely be in touch. We have a committee meeting later on this week to start planning for the festie but applications will be open until around May-time.

Thanks.

It may be worth your while contacting Pocket Satellite. They would fit perfectly on the indoor stage and would probably bring in a significant number of extra audience members.

They don't post on here, though, so won't have seen the request to apply via your website but you won't regret your efforts if you manage to get them.
