pete_fcs Posted May 30, 2006 Author Share Posted May 30, 2006 love the photos pete, especially kelvin, forgot how massive they were i remember looking at them from walkley...you could see most of the long stretch of roof from the end of south road, if you were upstairs on a 95 bus! i think they were 1/4 mile in length, or 1/3 mile actual length of the zig-zagging walkways. As a keen digital photographer I note how in todays digital age - almost everyone is taking photographs of almost everything. In contrast, there are so few photos online that show Sheffield as it was. I'd implor local photographers to get scanning and take a leaf out of your book and get the archived online! I'd implor local photographers to get scanning and take a leaf out of your book and get the archived online! thanks lucasdigital, glad you like 'em! as for digital, it's true that it's much easier now to post online. however in hundreds of years to come these might all be unreadable unless p.c.'s or equivelant are still around. that will just leave my old shoebox of sheffield pictures! best bury them in a lead case...
