Wasn't the OP suggesting that some lighting might be a good idea and therefore stating there wasn't any?

PC...I never said there was lighting, I was just making a suggestion.

If you have nothing practical to add, keep it shut!!

Strix, there is a dog bin at 1 end, could do with 1 at the other.

just for interest, I was on the phone to the council yesterday - about lighting - and was told they're being privatised in the not too distant future. The government have allocated one heck of a lot of money to replacing huge quantities of street lighting between now and 2012, so get your suggestion in for this lighting!

Wasn't the station supposed to be becoming an interchange? has that fallen by the wayside now?

Not strictly true. The funding is all part of the highways PFI package. It will be at least 2 years before that contract is up and running. The vast majority of any renewal/upgrading work will take place within the first five years (ish) of that contract and will only apply to council owned roads and footways.

So is the road owned by the council or Network Rail??

i've sent a mail to the council, just awaiting a reply... could be a while.

No, you're right. I do seem to recall there being a 'private road' sign there at one time. I may be wrong though........dementia n all that.

you could be right - I think Junction Road opposite is unadopted, but was resurfaced by Network Rail recently as access to the refurbished signalling yard and box
