How to check someones criminal record?

Recommended Posts

it was some time ago now (years) and trust me hes a loser, i did check the sheff star archives but he wont give a proper date so its impossible

I had same prob and had to work out the date by default - check known dates of employment / education / submissions to Friends reunited etc then see if it leaves a narrow enough window to trawl the back issues of the star.

Also check with his mates or ex mates in and around places he does or used to frequent.

Due to the research i have conducted i may have come across the name if you want to run it by me.

I had 4 years worth to trawl but i came up trumps using the methods described.......depends how keen your are i suppose.

Much as you might care for your sisters welfare, perhaps you should accept that it's her decision? She might not thank you for interfering in her affairs. Try and be happy for her because I'm pretty sure that is what she will appreciate more than anything. Should things go pear shaped in the future then I'm sure that she will be grateful for your support. It might be hard for you to take a step back but sometimes it's for the best. If you don't you could risk losing the trust of the sister that you obviously love.

I agree with this. More often than not it's better not to meddle in other people's relationships. Even if you find out some dirty little secret about him chances are she'll resent you for prying and opening that knowledge up for her. If she has any sense she'll soon see him for what he is and if she doesn't well... at least she'll be blissfully, ignorantly happy ;).

Probably best to not interfere. Sometimes when you try to show someone how 'bad' their choice of partner is, they will just want to prove you wrong and it will push them closer together and isolate themselves from friends and family.

Just let her know that you are always there for her no matter what and you won't judge her if the worst happens and she has to admit she was wrong.
