What is the Park Hill Area Like?

Recommended Posts

I have lived on Park Hill for most of my life. So to all of you ignorant people who have been spouting off about how bad it is, you need to get your facts right.

Park Hill is a community where there is good people living as well as the so called crackheads that some people are saying on this forum.

You can't tar all people with the same brush.

So to all you people get your facts right because in my eyes you are a load of arseholes who don't know what their on about.:rant::rant:

Ive known a fair few people live on or near park hill, only one ever had any trouble there and he brought it on himself, many a time ive walked home through park hill myself and never had any trouble.

If it wasn't being done up I would be bidding to live there via SPS.

My brother lived in Park Hill when he was a student and he was never mugged, or intimidated at all. If you're a drug dealer or criminal, sure people will attack you, but they don't attack members of the general public.

People assume it's bad, cos it looks so awful. In Ecclesall or Broomhall, you're more likely to be robbed or mugged because there are rough people who go there to prey on students and middle class people.

You're so close to town, as well. Don't be put off just cos people assume it's bad without having lived there.

Thank you someone who finally agrees with me.

I have lived on Park Hill nearly all my life and I have never felt intimidated once.

Sure it has got a reputation, but people who dont live on here dont know what its like, so shouldnt make rude comments about it.

Areas like manor and wybourn have also got bad press, but Im quite sure if you ask any one who lives there they will say the same as me.

Hi Moonolt, I was a teaching assistant at Park Hill School. When did you teach there? I think Park Hill School was the best.

in my youth i have lived on both park hill and hyde park, it is the usuall council estate culture,

there are a few groups of young lads about but nowadays that is no surprize what else is there for them to do ?

both areas have a great community spirit, close to town and shops, tram on the door step, plenty of take outs ......

the best thing you could do is have a trip down and spend some time around the area one weekend, the park is excellent great in the summer with lots going on,great for the kids there is a great play area for all ages and always full.

i think you would be fine and i would have no problem with living down there.

i do work in those areas quite frequently and dont have any problems .....

i say go for it ..
