Lickszz 10 #1 Posted December 14, 2004 40 per cent of the population are suffering aids, two thirds are living below the poverty line and surviving on food aid, and yet the 36 year old King of Swaziland can spend £370,000 on a DaimlerChrysler Maybach 62 with a 21 speaker surround sound and silver champagne flutes and a DVD player. I've also read that the absolute monarch has already purchased a stretch Rolls Royce and a fleet of BMW's and Mercedes for himself and his ten wives. Last year he was going to buy a private jet but street protests forced him to abandon the plan. Why isn't none of this shown on Geldorf's Band Aid appeal? The poor African women and children are suffering. Individuals like this should be forced to get their priorities right. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4091271.stm
 Share this content via...
mat1978 10 #2 Posted December 14, 2004 I dont know how true this is, but seemed fairly plausible; someone at work had a friend of the family who made millions out of the the first Band Aid single. He sold a shedload of lorries to the charity to enable them to transport the supplies to Ethiopia - problem was it was the rainy season somewhere along the route which made the dodgy roads (tracks) completely inpassable. Millions of pounds meant for the starving was completely wasted. Mat:|
 Share this content via...
