Hi Texas. The Ted Needham Quartet played at Nether Edge and also at the Wheatsheaf in Baslow on Monday nights . My Dad was the bass player ,name of Jim Clayton ,the drummer was Len Briggs and the pianist was called David but I can't remember his second name! Ted was the guitarist that you mention. They won the Amateur Dance Band Championship in the mid fifties (can't remember the year) Do remember the huge winning cup that sat on the sideboard though! also my dads double bass which used to lie against the wall in the kitchen when he wasn't playing.
