I've had my allotment since Feb 2010 but unfortunately it is too much for me to manage due to poor health and for the past 2 summers it hasn't been as productive as it could have been. It is off Highcliffe Road near High Storrs school and has lots of fruit - redcurrants, gooseberries, raspberries in three fruit cages - as well as a plum and apple tree and veg beds. It needs a bit of structural work doing - steps, paths, proper edges to the beds - which I'm not very good at, and general tidying up but it has a lot of potential. Whirlow Hall Farm Fayre 2009 Banish those back-to-school blues and celebrate 30 years of Whirlow Hall Farm with a fun-filled, action packed day for all the family. From donkey derby’s to dog shows, to classic cars and craft fairs there’s a whole host of activities at Whirlow Hall Farm Fayre on Sunday 20th September 2009. Whirlow Hall Farm Fayre is an annual event that on average waves 10,000 attendees through its farm gates. As well as entertainment for all ages, the revenue of the Fayre also supports the day-to-day running of the farm ensuring that it can continue to provide farming and hands-on animal education to UK schools. Whirlow Hall Farm Fayre 2009 takes place on Sunday 20th September from 10am – 4pm. Parking is free and tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for children, £4 for concession and £12 for a family ticket (max 2 adults, 3 children).
