  1. gd100 thanks for the link, have had a look and see what comes my way. Chez2 - I am applying everywhere, but yes I do agree in what you are saying, looking for just graduate jobs is stupid and you should look else where, as experience is worth more than anything these days. It's hard as you would have thought Universities would offer more guidance towards helping you become employed. Though I am strong minded and happy to take it into my control where I can find a job that suits me rather than being drip fed information and being "forced" into a job. Its good that experienced people like yourselves are welling to provide information and suggestions. Thanks
  2. I did an IT sandwich courses though these days less and less businesses are employing graduates or reducing their intake. Seems like either you have to know someone or make sure you stand out.
  3. Shall try those sites that you've suggested! they look promising. never thought about twitter and following companies. I'm trying to find more graduate jobs and the sort. Though reading up, monster seems too big and more of a site for an everyday job. Looked on wiki jobs and they seem to have a lots of information about past experience of getting through to an interview which is helpful. just needing that first contact now. Well i've signed up to monster and mysheffieldjobs Though i feel that this site "www.weconnectstudents.com" is aimed more towards students which is what i am, will just have to see what happens. Cheers.
  4. ...after carrying out some research i think i've found what i needed, and as being at Sheffield Hallam and now job hunting, i thought sharing this would be helpful for others. sites such as linkedin or weconnectstudents have been useful and will allow employers to connect directly to you. though still sending your CVs to job agencies. Though so far i like the idea of a social network. what do you think??
  5. just finished Uni and still no full time job, any suggestions on getting myself noticed online, what sort of sites should i look at? any help or suggestions??? Cheers
  6. rite.. i didn't know that you can only have send/reveive one device at a time.. so it seems the best thing to do is to have a usb hub 2.0 and have a wireless keyboard and mouse, and plug in the usb stick! ok then thanks for the info.. i was just trying to see if i can get around with all the cables etc that you need. but seems like u can't Cheers
  7. Hi, a few questions here, anyway here goes... I've been looking around in getting a wireless keyboard and mouse, as my laptop has bluetooth on it, so i thought that i could connect a wireless keyboard and mouse up to it via the bluetooth connection. but i've read some reviws on that the bluetooth devices that they keep disconnecting from your computer, in this case i wouldn't want to buy it, so i thought why not get a usb hub, and not have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and just have a wireless keyboard and mouse, and have a usb stick plugged into the usb hub (as i need more usb ports). as well as this.. i've seen that you can get wireless usb hubs, why not use this and have all my usbs that go into the hub wireless. now for the questions, having a bluetooth keyborad and mouse, worth it?? should i get one or not? or should i go with a wireless keyborad and mouse, and have it plugged in via the usb hub or could i have it so that the usb hub is wireless?
