A large number of individuals and groups have banded together under the title "Residents Against Station Closure" and I am one of the contacts. The Manor and Woodthorpe Area Panel invited representatives of the Train company to attend the panel meeting last night at Victoria Methodist Church on Stafford Road. The Customers Services Director of EMT - Jake Kelly spoke for about an hour and a half both explaining their proposals and trying to respond to a range of key questions and critical comments the 100 or so local people who were there. There was information about this meeting posted in the Sheffield Telegraph last week end. The campaign against this proposal is being, and will need to be fought on a number of different levels. If you would like to take an active part or just be kept up to date on what is happening, let me know.

The train operator ( East Midlands Trains) which runs the Sheffield station is considering closing the rear entrance. The station currently not only links to the tram stop but also provides access to and from the centre of town for hundreds of people who live and work in the areas " behind " the station. A few of us who live and work here are starting to get together to try to oppose this plan. If this closure would affect you let me know. Let's see if together, we can stop it.
