  1. awwww thanks guys so nice to hear the positive outcomes of the raw diet...... to be honest i think they only reasons i havent done it sooner was a storage and b cost... now i have a dog freezer and the cost really isnt much different no i didnt meet Donnas dogs but she did tell me about them and also about another lady that goes in with a blue frenchie, Donna then showed me a pic of a blue and white frenchie pup.... then she walked through the door haha
  2. Everyone was just so friendly that it gave me real confidence in my decision ........ I sure will he's cost me a small fortune with his skin already but he's just too young to be on steroids and antibiotics all the time so making a few changes and diet being the first so I'll let u know how we get on :-) :-)
  3. Well today I decided that I was going to start my 7 month old French bulldog on raw diet ........ I went to the real pet grub shop on Holme lane and I still can't get over how helpful knowledgable an friendly everyone was! The staff and customers alike were fantastic! I'm really excited to see the results as Bentley is quite lean and I'm having problems with skin allergies so can't wait to see the rewards and apparently his blue coat will shine like glass ? My mum came with me to the shop and when I got home she called to say they were so impressed they were on the way back down to start there dogs on raw too :-) it seems to be the way forward haha
  4. pennine equine at wortley has a cross country course for hire... they have a website so google them.... up the rd from there, there is also wortley county park that has quite a few jumps as its for the hunt :-)
  5. sorry to read about ur ordeal but if these dogs were on a lead then they were under control... due to people lives i dont think u can specify a time people walk dogs if this incident has shook u up then think of it as a warning and maybe ur dog might need some more recall training or keep him on a lead as well when other dogs are around.
  6. my friend is a police officer in leeds and is dealing with a case regarding a man abusing his staffie and making it attack other dogs when out walking...... its really sad as my friend actually has 11 dogs of her own so shes fighting tooth and nail to get this dog off this man but legally shes having trouble i hope that u have more success
  7. i have same problems... ive had my lab 7 years and i can go anywhere with him and people always stop and talk and fuss him.... since i got my rottie... its like ive got 3 heads lol when i started my new job someone was asking what breeds my dogs were and when i said i had a rottie they said 'oh u dont look like a rottie owner' i said im not... im actually owned by a rottie shes only ever fell out with one dog and that was a bitch and it was a dominance thing she doesnt like to be dominated by bitches
  8. fab thanks chick hes clipped, fit and looking forward to his 1st show of the season on 31st so keep a look out for pics on fb xx
  9. lovely yard lisa when did baz become a warmblood i bought him as part welsh hahahaha its jo by the way x
  10. hi and welcome to the world of been owned by a rottie i got my rottie bitch when she was 11 months she was entire and i was her 5th home.....i was lucky or unlucky enough to know what my girl had been though in her short life and the 1st thing i did was have her spayed. Everyone has given u sound advice ... unless ur aware of what the rescues do and the time and money it costs then yeah breeding might seem a 'good idea' but if u take time to scroll the the dogsblog pages and all the rescues it just pulls on ur heart strings and then u realsise by adding to this at least one of ur puppies ur giving the death sentance to. if ur rottie is anything like mine u will have ur hands full with just the one she will give u many years of love and happiness...... enjoy
  11. i went to my friends today who have a housefull of dogs... about 11 at last count they work alot with a rescue and do alot of fostering ... but they never seem to leave anyway i went up today and she said she nearly rang me yesterday to see if i wanted another dog... free to a good home a 6 month old labradoodle! it was too much for the owner she couldnt cope.... i often wonder what people actually expect when they take on these dogs... do they read up on the breeds and see if they can give the dog the exercise it will require. i would love another dog but i know my limits and would only consider a small dog as i already have 2 big dogs and my house and car isnt big enough for another lg breed so this is another example of someone getting a life they have no idea about
  12. awwww she sounds a very lucky girl to have you.... their loss is your gain
  13. some people think dogs are like an assessory ... you know like a new handbag... when its served its purpose get a new one bigger and in a different colour!!
  14. its there loss shes a cracking dog if only they had put time and love into her and given her time to mature then they would be reeping the rewards like i am
