  1. I went to Newfield Girls school in 1959 was there for just over a year.
  2. Hi Sandie1 My husbands grandparents lived in Little London Road, their name was Needham. He remembers the name Garbutt.
  3. Hi Cynthia, Hope your husband's now recovered. Colins eledest son also dies quite a few years ago, he was 21. Cant comment about the health care you would have received over here, but the NHS is not ver good at the moment, with lots of Redundancys looming.
  4. Hi Vulcan B2 I also went just for the last year to Newfield School. Maybe your mum and I was in the same class at Heeley Bank, My sister in Law, also went to Heeley Bank School, followed by Newfield her name is Linda, she lived just past the shops on Myrtle Road, just below Anns Road.

Set off to Sheffield today with good intensions of going to The Sheffield Archives, however the bus broke down.Then I bumped into an old School friend after a long chat decided not to go, so I intend to take a days holdiay next week and pay a visit. Colin & Barry died a few years ago, Barry died first. I have another brother his name is David, again he is a 4years older than myself. Yes Radfords lived in Alexandra Road, Denmark Road & Edwin Road.Boynton Street Think you may remember my mum, she visited the P.O. & was help by Mr Shemeld more than once. I have a brother Ken much older than I am, your husband may remember him.
  7. Hi Tosh13, I used to play in the grounds of the club and went to Cleethorpes with them every summer. Think we got fifteen shillings to spend or was it seven and six cant remember.

  10. Hi Marlene, Yes I agree, it is run down and agree with everything with regards to the Woolhouses.My husband lived in Myrtle Road, I lived in Edwin Road. we both went to Heeley Bank Later my husband went to the Sheff. Tech I went to Newfield School
  11. Hi Cynthia, Yes I remember Staleys the Newsagents on Foster Road, think it was taken over by Woolhouses.Yes I remember the Staleys in Edwin Road, they had five 5 boys and one girl. The Mother may not be your husbands grandmother. I work with the youngest Staleys son. How long have you lived in Canada?

  14. Help want to know about Fullwood Cottage Homes, my mother and her sister Frances May Oldham and Mary Oldham. stayed there, mother was born in 1905 her sister was born in 1900. Mum was 8 and her sister was 13 when they went into the home. Mums sister didnt stay too long because of her age and left, mum never saw her again. If anyone out there knows anything, could you let me know please. Thank you
